VOICE for deaf and hard of hearing children

VOICE for deaf and hard of hearing children VOICE for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children helps children with hearing loss to maximize their listening and spoken language potential 🇨🇦 VOICE for deaf and hard of hearing children was established in the early ’60s by parents to offer support to other families with children who were deaf and hard of hearing.

These Toronto parents wanted their children to be educated alongside their hearing peers in mainstream schools. By working collectively they succeeded in achieving this goal and had the tremendous benefit of sharing information and providing support to one another.

Do you want to learn more about Cochlear's Osia System? Learn from the expert, the user - Brooke! Join us tomorrow, October 21st from 7 pm to 8 pm EDT for the Parent & Osia Recipient Cochlear Q&A. Brooke is 17 years old and was diagnosed with a unilateral sensorineural hearing loss at the age of 2. She initially had the BAHA. After 7 years Brooke went through 2 surgeries to remove the old implant and abutment to receive the Osia System. Brooke's mom: "She is truly thrilled with the OSIA and does not have to struggle as hard to hear what others are saying. She says the sound quality is great and is most like any “regular” sound that she has ever heard. She wears it whenever she is out of the house and it is essential for her when she is at work at a pet store. It has given her greater confidence." Register for the live webinar and tune in tomorrow! https://www.cvent.com/d/77q21z

Hey everyone! My name is Gabrielle, and I am an AVT/SLP at CHEO in Ottawa:) I am working on a little project and thought you all might be able to help me! Although I try and limit screen time with kids, I’m discovering new ways to conduct therapy virtually during the pandemic. I’m working on a list of apps to use for concepts (shapes, colours, counting, opposites, etc.) and language building. I work primarily with 0-4 year olds. What apps do you use with your infants/toddlers/preschoolers?!?
