Could I have one of the most diverse Massage Therapy practices?

I’m not sure if I do. What I do know for sure is that I am blessed to have been born Canadian, raised in diverse Toronto, and have had the privilege to serve more that 17,000 clients, in 24 years from 99/197 countries on the planet!

In this day and age of separation and polarities in race,politics, gender and belief systems,I can say that my practice is a place of peace, respite, trust and understanding.

Good Morning! I trust everyone is very well!

My massage practice has officially re-opened and it's good getting back feeling fresher, more energized and reconnecting with my fabulous clientele.

Re-opening means new protocols in place to help keep us us safe and healthy.

I have spent much of my time re-contemplating life and my work. My mini transformations and self-explorations have led me to think, "How can I PROACTIVELY keep myself and stress levels in check"?

#1. Manage my expectations of myself - in simple terms, be easy with myself. Nothing creates more stress than creating super high expectations that I am not ready to achieve at any given time.

#2. Stay regular with self-care routines - For me right now, that means doing my online movement classes which has been surprisingly enjoyable, and doing morning guided meditations to get myself ready for the day.

#3. Support - Reaching out for help when needed.

This one is a work in progress. I like to think I can do it all. Sorry Ayanna, but you can't and don't bother! Reach out for help when needed and that also means reconnecting with friends that I haven't seen in so long. I've spent many weeks/months/years alone and COVID reminded me that social connections are very necessary, in whatever form they take.

And lastly, just breathe....

When I feel anger and frustration building....just breathe

When stressed....just breathe

When my walls and defences go up....just breathe

When feeling sad and lonely....just breathe

When the sun is out and the weather is warm....just breathe ( and be thankful)

Stressful days don't last forever, everything eventually changes!

I'm fine, you're fine and all is totally well!

Today I was listening to a chat on how we can create value in each others’ lives with a simple, β€œhello”, β€œhow are you?”, β€œI love you and been thinking of you”.

The idea is if I start contacting one person and chase 100 people to contact, and if that 100 would chase 1000, what would 1 million do in impacting someone’s life in a very simple caring way?

Happy Sunday!

Last week my fellow community garden members and I received GREAT news that emergency orders for allotment and community gardens have been lifted allowing individuals and families to grow food for there families needs.

SO SO many benefits to gardening....

βœ… Community involvement
βœ… Knowing our new our neighbours
βœ… Learning from gardening mentors and masters in the gardening community
βœ… Great for mental and spiritual health
βœ… Organic gardening
βœ… Providing optimal nutrition for our bodies
βœ… Connecting with nature and it’s cycles
βœ… Recycling
βœ… Becoming a better nurturer
βœ… Movement and natural exercise
βœ… Recognizing the effortless abundance in nature and seeing how the same is true for our lives. Just look at how many plants can be grown and people fed from one plant!!

Self Healing Recap.

Hey Everyone….I trust you all are staying well!

As you are well aware, non-essential health providers like myself have had to temporarily close shop to protect the public, and to help flattened the COVID curve.

This has left some massage clients struggling with how to manage some uncomfortable conditions.

I am all about Foundations to self healing, preventative health care and harness the natural healing abilities in your body.

These part is that they are actionable, simple and free!

Here’s a recap on SELF HEALING.

What you can and MUST do to naturally amplify your body’s healing abilities.

I’m going to use the acronym W I N N E R S

W - water. Stay well hydrated.πŸ’§πŸ’§πŸ’§

I - inspiration. Peace over pain, faith over fear. Find ways to feel peaceful, be inspired and more positive. πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

N - nutrition. Feed your body with good nutrition that will best support YOUR body for best health.πŸ₯‘πŸ₯‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ₯¦πŸ₯¦

N - near loved ones, or social connection. Stay connected to family, friends and loved ones. Call, text or FaceTime to see how they are doing.πŸ‘©β€β€οΈβ€πŸ‘¨πŸ‘©β€β€οΈβ€πŸ‘¨πŸ‘©β€β€οΈβ€πŸ‘¨

E- exercise/movement. Find ways daily to move or exercise outside or in your home. πŸ•ΊπŸΌπŸ’ƒπŸƒπŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

R - rest. I think of this as non-sleep rest. It could be sitting in your favourite spot to look out a window or meditation. It’s time for yourself to contemplate or receive inspiration.😌😌😌

S - sunshine. Get outside, feel the sun on your skin, be with nature. We get Vitamin D and energy by connecting with the natural world.β˜€οΈβ˜€οΈπŸ¦šπŸ¦šπŸŒΊπŸŒΊ

S - sleep. Studies have shown that about 7-8 hours of sleep for body regeneration, rejuvenation and mental clarity.πŸ˜΄πŸ˜΄πŸ’•

Many of us are familiar with affirmations, writing and declaring our goals and desires for having things like better relationships, more money, better health etc.

If stating these desires and affirmations can produce the experience of them in our lives, is it then possible to command our cellular structures to activate and amplify themselves improved performance and better health?

This time more than ever we must find and use strategies on a consistent basis to manage our stress levels.

What I do is one piece of the puzzle and a very important one to bring the body and mind into a well-functioning state to mitigate burnout.

Would a layer of lavender on the body help? Perhaps but a bit messy πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - you get the picture.

I would count myself as being one with high stress levels these days. I rest a lot more, exercise about 5 days a week, have a good cry when needed and right now spending time in my garden getting my seeds and plants ready for planting!

So how do you manage your stress levels?
