What determines your weight set point?

Your heredity and your environment-starting back at the moment of your conception-determine your set point.

Over the long term, excess food and insufficient exercise will override your body's natural tendency to stay at its set point and lead to a higher, less healthy set point.

A slow, gradual weight gain, (a 20lbs weight gain over several decades) will fool your body into thinking that your set point should be higher. In fact, that does reset your set point. Then, when you try to lose weight, your body defends that higher weight, making weight loss more difficult.

But just as it's possible to reset your set point to a higher point, it's also possible to lower it.

The secret is to work with, not against, your body's natural tendencies and lose weight slowly, one silhouette at a time.

Work towards your optimal weight set-point with 1-to-1 coaching!

When is Weighing Yourself a Problem?

If any of these signs sound familiar, you might have an unhealthy attitude toward your regular weigh-ins, and it might be time to reevaluate your mindset, if not your actual approach.

1️⃣ You’re constantly dreading your weigh-ins.

Some anxiety or hesitation before weigh-ins is completely normal, but if you’re worried or anxious all the time, especially to the extent that it’s interfering with other aspects of your life, it may be time to reevaluate.

2️⃣ You weigh yourself multiple times per day.

Remember that body weight fluctuates naturally throughout the day – there’s nothing constructive to be learned from multiple daily weigh-ins. If this is a regular practice, it may be indicative of an unhealthy obsession.

3️⃣ You know too much about your "exact" weight.

Most people can probably tell you how much they weigh within 5 or 10 pounds of accuracy. If they’re actively tracking their weight, maybe within 1 to 5 pounds. If you know your weight at all times within fractions of a pound, it might be a bad sign.

Are You Making Weight Loss Harder?

Losing weight seems like it is all about changing your body, but the truth is that weight loss is a mental game, too. Here are some common mindsets that could be sabotaging your weight loss and making it more difficult. Negative Thinking Having a positive attitude is one of the keys to improving you...

That's right, 28 days to create a habit and 90 days to make the habit a sustainable lifestyle change!

We all want results now, if not yesterday.

That's why slimming products and weight-loss challenges "sell" so well. Yes, they often illicit "instant results." But what happens when you go back to daily living and stop the slimming drink/products/challenge? 😩WEIGHT GAIN!!! 😔

I see this repeatedly, leading to unhappiness and disappointment. Don't forget, old habits die hard!

❓Do you want to change?
❓Are you struggling with your weight?
❓Are you struggling to maintain your weight?
❓Do you want to lead a healthier lifestyle?

Let me help you:
✅ It all starts with making a decision! Change "I should" to "I am!" An "I am" statement is a more powerful term for the brain to process.
✅ Believe in yourself! You will likely achieve your weight-loss goals if you put your mind to it!
✅ Create better, long-lasting habits. Eventually, the habit will become a lifestyle change.

✍️Don't give up too quickly. Write a goal that you'd like to achieve and focus on it.
If you want to drop a pant size in 6 weeks, create a strategy to reach the goal.
For example: Eat off a smaller plate to control portions or plan meals ahead of time.
✅ Notice how I didn't mention calorie counting once? Reducing your plate size and balancing meals correctly may be all that is required!
👍I hope you found a few of these tips helpful. 🙏 Happy Monday, everyone! Life's too short to be unhappy about your weight. Embrace change and lead a healthier lifestyle.

Can we have a healthy relationship with the scale?

The Scale ⚖️

Oh, this dreaded machine that can dictate how we feel from one day to the next.

This cold, lifeless piece of metal somehow determines the worth of so many young girls and women.

This piece of appliance that we are either so obsessed with or so fearful of that we stay away from it as far as possible.

So is there such thing as having a healthy relationship with the scale, if it creates such havoc and emotional turmoil for so many of us?

The short answer is YES ✋✋

Yes, you can indeed have a healthy relationship with your scale…
BUT… 😯😯

if you struggle with and/or fear the scale, it requires a lot of deep, introspective, inside work to get to a place where you experience a healthy relationship with it.

So what would a healthy relationship with a scale look like?
You would understand that:

➡️A number is just a number. It does not determine your worth and value as a person.

➡️ A number does not tell you your body composition breakdown.

The most important thing to do is to NOT BE SO ATTACHED TO THE NUMBER ON THE SCALE.

Where your attention goes, the energy flows.

So if you’re hyper-focused on the number on the scale, guess what this will bring you? Frustration, mood swings, anxiety, rigidity, control, self-loathing, body hate and body shame.
Focused on what you can influence: energy levels, gut health, balancing hormones and blood sugar levels, sharpening mental alertness, clarity, concentration and memory.

When it comes to building on your physical goals, focus on aspects such as strength, flexibility, agility, mobility.

Focus on LOVING YOURSELF FIRST. This is what builds your character from the inside out. This is what builds your confidence.

Dear Jill + Future Clients of Team Bunny,

I do not have a social media account to sing Jill's praises, so instead, I am going to make Jill post this on her feed. (Sorry Jill, but you always told me to play the best case, worst case scenario game... and the worst case is that you don't post it, but you still get to read first hand just how much you changed my life... and the best-case scenario would be that it inspires someone to seek out your incredible coaching skills.)

So here it goes,

I have been working with Jill for 3 months. I have lost a substantial amount of weight, and yes I am happy - but not as happy as I feel, for the first time in my life. I now believe that I am good enough, I am in control of my food and exercise, and do not have to feel deprived and restricted to look good.

Jill is an exceptional programmer, (her workouts are insane)... but what sets her apart from any trainer is her private, confidential approach to coaching and insane brain! The 1-to-1 phone calls each week are what really helped shift my mindset and allow me to develop the habits and skills to take ownership and responsibility for my health and wellbeing.

If you wonder why you can't follow a plan or just don't fit into the "group challenges" then I would work with Jill. Finding out the Jill is becoming a therapist, not to change jobs, but to have the skills to really make a change in the lives of women in fitness, is what sold me. We go to a therapist when depressed, anxious or have marital problems. So why wouldn't we go to a therapist for our fitness issues? Jill is the missing piece, and I couldn't be happier to have found her! I am proud to call her my therapist (although she tells me I can't call her that just yet) and coach.

I am rambling, but if you want to have a REAL change, work with Jill!

OK, this is the longest thing I have ever written for a testimonial that might not get published... so you better post it, Jill!

Hey! Welcome to Team Bunny!

I teach women the proper diet, training and mindset skills to effectively achieve their fitness goals.

Hey there! My name is Jill Bunny, weight-loss expert turned mental and fitness health advocate. I help women lose weight, and tone up by teaching diet and training techniques they can use for the rest of their lives.

I do this through simple, unique methods that you can find in my books, podcasts/blogs, interactive programs, 1:1 coaching sessions, and exclusive retreats!

As a cancer survivor and someone who lives with MS, I know the struggles that can come with life while trying to stay fit, healthy and energetic. I will teach you how to think differently so that your sabotaging thoughts no longer hold you back from achieving your fitness goals. It is time to live a life full of confidence, energy, passion and purpose.

I made this lentils pizza crust, and it turns out delicious. I know some of the bunnies don't eat cheese, but can be modified 🙂 enjoy! Note: the recipe only works with red lentils.
Good evening, I was wondering if there is any fellow team bunny members in the Cambridge/Kitchener/Guelph or Brantford area? I'm on holidays for a bit but am interested in setting up regular walks with like minded individuals as a social outlet. Can DM if this is of interest please.
https://mshealthandfitness.com/2019/shannon-summers Hey everyone!! Voting is now open!! I’d really appreciate your vote to become the next Ms Health and Fitness! You can vote daily. Thank you so much for your support. I’m sooo exited!
I have a question that I am hoping some of you ladies can help me with. I have two daughters (12&9) and as I am going through prep I hear them say more and more “oh right mom you can’t eat that” I am worried about the effect that this will have on them, I try to explain that I can, that i am fully capable of eating what they eat but I am choosing not to. However, with raising girls I am worried that seeing me go through measuring my food and being particular about what I put in my body may cause them to having issues with eating later on in life. What are some responses that you have to your children when they ask about what you “can/can’t” eat? What are your thoughts and experiences with this?

♥️Testimonial♥️ A roller coaster for this returning Team Bunny athlete .. this one may shock you... but I promise it has a beautiful ending ♥️♥️♥️♥️ Where do I begin? I started working with Jill 4 years ago for a competition. I suffered from an eating disorder years before, and I knew from Jill's story, that she was the right coach for me. The entire prep she made sure that I was nourished, never cutting any food groups or extreme measures. The last thing we both wanted was to create old habits. I won my show... But that was only the beginning. I was young and influenced by the industry and started to believe other coaches that didn't actually care about my health. I left Jill without telling her, and have always felt bad for what I did. The coaches I worked with pushed drugs, extreme diets and training... I got in the wrong crowd and got back to old habits. I was forced to quite competing and had to go back to therapy. I reached out to Jill as she was the only person that I trusted.. and I had so much guilt for not seeing how wonderful I had it with her and team bunny. After a phone call, she said we could work together again and to let the past be the past. It's been 6 months and I am on my road to my happy self again. I am so grateful for Jill. She is forgiving and always open to second chances, even when I felt I didn't deserve it. She has helped me to look at my thoughts and beliefs differently.. and for once I feel that dark cloud lift up. I owe my life to Jill and will have her as my coach and support system for life. Thank you ♥️
Motivation my bunny family ❤️❤️
