We wear these orange shirts to create an awareness of the pain that the residential schools have caused and continue to cause the Indigenous people. We also wear them to honour and pay our respect to the children who suffered and perished because of them. We offer our unwavering support and commitment as an organization to be part of a healthy and collaborative path forward.

We encourage everyone to take the time to learn more and become part of the solution.

Covid Update – June 10, 2021

Stage 1 Reopening Guidelines
Millcreek Vet Clinic will be opening the doors for Stage 1 starting on Monday June 14th, 2021. We will be opening with a hybrid of appointments for our transition back to ‘normal’.
During this transition we will be offering both ‘in person’ appointments as well as ‘curb-side’ appointments. There will be a limited number of both types of appointments available each day so that we can comply with provincial regulations as far as building capacity, disinfection, room cleaning and social distancing. Each appointment type will be on a first come, first serve basis. We will continue to offer drop-off appointments for sick patients as well as telemedicine appointments. Our staff will assist you to determine what appointment is best suited for your pet.
In-person appointments will include the patient (dog or cat) and accompanied by one person in the clinic at a time to allow for appropriate spacing in the exam room. At the time of booking, you will receive an email with instructions of how to our in-clinic appointments will work. Please read those closely.
We will be restricting the number of clients gathering in the building and will encourage curb-side medication and food pick-up. We will not be offering drop-in or walk-in services at this time.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the clinic and we would be happy to help you.

Our Story

Dr. Amy Doornekamp was born and raised on her family’s hobby farm outside of the village of Odessa. She developed a love for animals very early in life and since childhood knew that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She graduated with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University and completed her clinical year of studies at Cornell University. After graduation she worked in upstate New York as an equine and small animal veterinarian. Amy returned home to Odessa where she started her own equine mobile practice, Odessa Equine Services. Amy grew up with horses and loves working them. With her love and expertise in working with small animals she founded Millcreek Veterinary Clinic in Odessa. Dr. Doornekamp sincerely appreciates everyone who has brought their pet to the clinic and looks forward to serving the community for many years to come.

Thank you to Amy and staff! You have looked after our baby Nali since she was a small puppy. She has grown into a beautiful, healthy dog! You guys are the best!

Hands down, the most compassionate, knowledgeable veterinary team we have ever come cross. Amy went above and beyond and I believe if it wasn't for her our Auzzie would not be here today. For anyone who is looking for a team of people who treat your pet as if it's their own, this is it. Thank You from the bottom of our heart Amy!!
Amy is a wonderful vet! Always cheerful, professional and honest. She is knowledgeable and wants the best for the animals she cares for.
I have already written a review for Millcreek but I cant say it enough. Dr.Amy Doornekamp is an amazing vet and human being. I’ve had the pleasure of her taking care of my horses since I moved here in 2012. She is always very honest and so so knowledgeable. I don’t know her staff all that well but from the times I’ve had to call or stop in the office they have always been kind and helpful, greeting you with a smile. Thank you again for all you do.
