In this webinar, Jason Rice, an occupational therapist (OT) in the Forensic Treatment Unit at the Brockville Mental Health Centre, looks at vocational rehabilitation through an OT lens. His presentation will focus on the importance of meaningful tasks, and how even the smallest of tasks can reap the biggest rewards. The Royal’s vocational programming starts with the basics – it’s designed to assist individuals to meet their daily needs and expands as they transition in their care and in their life. The goal is to teach skills that are transferrable to any situation and can be applied across all areas to optimize their independent functional abilities. The importance of leading a balanced lifestyle will be highlighted as well.
