Who knew you could do so much in ONE weekend!⁣

Kaily and Austin came to Ottawa for the weekend, so we did some touristy things. We brought them to do everything from Skating on the Rideau Canal, bowling, puzzles, relaxing, arcade games, axe throwing, exploring, vegan eating to playing games of pool. ⁣

It felt so nice to just kinda forget about our busy lives, enjoy their company and have fun. I have alot on my plate right now and I was kinda nervous about having company all weekend, but it didnt take me long to be excited and realise its exactly what I needed 💕⁣

A little distraction, time with friends, laughter and plenty of fresh air does one a lot of good. Especially with all the seasonal and personal changes I'm going through at the moment. ⁣

The weather was definitely on our side all weekend. We we're out skating and I literally just keep yelling "wow, it's so beuatiful out" I couldn't get enough of it ☺️⁣

A fun filled (sober) weekend made this monday that much easier for me. If your feeling like this winter is dragging on and your fed up. The next time it's nice out, try going for a walk and just appreciate the beauty of nature, the fresh air, knowing that spring and new beginnings are coming 🌷 @ Ottawa, Ontario

It's all starting to make sense!⁣
Being on this journey, having this new incredible out look on life has all been so eye opening.⁣

My personal development game has reached some new heights, and im realizing this life, what happens to me, is all because of my doings. My thoughts, my actions, it all comes back to me and it all starts with me.⁣

I'm starting to understand it truly is me who decides what kind of life I want to live / create. ⁣

Did you know that what you focus on and think about most is what your bound to attract into your life...⁣

So, if I'm always negative and needing, theres always going to be lack, always going to be an unfulfillment feeling. [[which isn't going to attract anything better because I'm stuck thinking about the same 'sh*tty' situation]]⁣

If I decide everyday, to look at the world in a positive prospective, and be grateful for everything around me, I'll be living in the opposite of lack, and will be attracting everything meant for me naturally. [[with an open, positive, receiving mindset, I'll be attracting new, bigger things into my life]]⁣

Mindset is the key for growth, the key to enjoying everyday and always moving forward. I starting with something small like being more aware of my thoughts and cutting out the ones that dont serve me on this journey. [putting myself down, complaining, being negative] It's made the biggest difference.⁣

If your feeling it, just do it!⁣

It's been over a year that I drive passed these power lines on my way to work, over a year that I wanted to stop and get this shot. ⁣

I'd always have the urge to stop, then the instant overthinking would begin. You cant stop on the side of the highway, you'll get hit, maybe you'll get a ticket - you dont even have your camera, you dont have time and the list goes on and on. ⁣

That instant over thinking clouds your brain, distracting and confusing you. Did you know that very first thought, the first spark, is your true thought, your gut instinct.⁣

As the days go on, as I make more progress with myself, I'm realizing alot of those distracting thoughts are so useless and unneccessary, especially for growth. ⁣

I'm so tired of overthinking, tired of it having an effect on my mood, tired of making myself feel like sh*t.⁣

Instead I'm learning to do what feels good, what makes me happy, what makes my heart sing. ⁣

Lifes to short to be dwelling on things that dont matter, things that dont surve me and my growth. ⁣

So, here's to letting go of old habits, old thought patterns and to practicing what feels good, for the mind, the body and the soul. 💫

30 day commitment⁣

I'll start by saying it took me months to finish this yoga challenge. I actually intended on doing it during the summer, but that didn't last to long 🙈

The days I did practice, it had such a positive impact on my day and I always felt great. I knew it was something I wanted to implement in my morning routine, I just couldn't manage to get up earlier.⁣

I was so bad at getting up in the morning, I'd always be hitting snooze until last minute. For 2020, I finally committed to my personal development, knowing a morning routine was in order, and yoga would be perfect, I started.⁣

Since I'm just starting out, having a challenge to follow made it easy to flow through and I was able to continue building on my skills.⁣

Not only has yoga helped strengthen and tone my entire body, but helped my posture, increased my flexibility and also taught me some great lessons to practice off the matt as well.⁣

Dedicicating this time for myself everyday has showen me the importance of patience, it reminds me to always be loving, always be greateful for myself and all that is around me.⁣

Switching things up from time to time is a healthy way of tuning in to what's going on around you.

It could be anything like taking a new way to work, experimenting in the kitchen or even trying a new activity.

Our brains are always trying to conserve energy, and as a resulting our minds go into autopilot. In this state our brains "switch off" while performing tasks we're used of doing, which allows us to be doing the task with out even thinking about it.

You know when your driving, then get to your destination and dont even remember driving a portion of the way?

Yep, autopilot

Yesterday I took a different route home after work, and it was so much more enjoyable. My brain switched off autopilot, I felt more aware and engaged to my surroundings. Seeing new landscapes, different buildings, new pace of traffic, the beautiful sunset and overall being more self aware and greateful for everything around me.

Being more self aware of what's happening to your thoughts and mood is such a crucial part to growth. Try switching things up and see how it feels!

I've never felt so good in my own skin!⁣

It feels so nice having confidence! Looking in the mirror and being happy with my body, getting a glimpse of myself in the window and thinking wow, I'm actually so beautiful.⁣

At a guick glance, theres not much different, but so much has changed on the inside. My state of being, outlook on life and motivation has all shifted.⁣

Building a stronger, positive mindset has lead me to actually start making progress in the gym. It's been forever since I had some solid results, and actually continued building on them.⁣

What changed?⁣

A worked on a couple things like:⁣
Full commitment, stopped comparing myself to others, started practicing yoga, changed my diet and how I view food, actually care about what I put in my body, fall in love with fuel not junk, building a positive relationship with food, not munching out, learning when I'm full to stop eating and enjoying the process along the way.⁣

All of these things I've been trying to do for so long, all of a sudden seem so much easier with a strong, positive mindset.⁣

Why go to a hockey tournament if your not playing or drinking?

Simple, to see my girls and our friends. It's so nice to see everyone, we're such a good close group of friends and I'm greatful to have so many wonderful people in my life.

The only thing different this time was that I was sober, all weekend, no drinks, no drugs. Of course it felt great not being hung over the next day, but above that I love that I remember my nights, my conversations and that everything isn't just a blur.

I'm beyond proud of myself, and so happy with how smooth the weekend went. It wasn't hard saying no to shots, no one asked if I wanted a line, I didnt feel like I HAD to be drinking and I still had a good time.

There was 1 or 2 moments when I really noticed I was sober, and had to talk myself out of overthinking the situation. Moments like not caring what I look like dancing and socializing with people even tho I didnt have the confidence of alcohol.

Everything is a choice, you can choose to have a good time regardless or choose to have a bad time because you think you need alcohol to have a good time.

Attitude is everything, choosing how you act and react to situations will make the world of a difference.

Stay self aware and keep it positive.

CALM, COOL AND COLLECTIVE

Kinda like how the water droplets freeze to the trees. Once it gets cold enough, the splashes from the water start to freeze, then continues freezing over it self to eventually form layers.

It embraces the cold weather, takes the situation and makes something out of it. It such a slow and delicate process, but beautiful and motivating at the same time. @ Temiscaming, Quebec

One of my 2020 goals is to be able to do a handstand by March.

I starting making little videos to see my progress and goal layed out. Plus its always nice to look back and see how much I've grown. 🤗

First part of the video is from 3 weeks ago, which is when I first started practicing. It was one off my first times getting up on my own.

Second half is from last week, and I'd say I already made great progress. Just by practicing 5-6 times a week, I've already gotten stronger, have more balance and can now start holding myself off the wall for a couple counts.

Took me a while to get the hang of throwing my feet up and trusting I'd hold myself there. My legs would always do this weird donkey kick thing and then come back to the ground😂

I started with getting my boyfriend to grab my legs and put them against the wall when I'd kick them off the ground. After realizing I could hold myself there, the fun started. I focused on my form (fingers spread wide, try keeping feet together, straight legs, strong back and core)

If it's something you want to try but are scared about being upside down, it helps to have someone there to get you up.

I'll be posting more about my hand stand journey, so stay tuned for my progress, as well as tip and tricks if your thinking about trying it out 😉

It's easy to tell a friend your proud and happy for them but why is it so hard to acknowledge our own achievements?⁣⁣

The other day I had a moment of ⁣⁣
"holy sh*t...your doing it, your finally doing it"⁣⁣
⁣⁣
This has been the furthest I've made it CONSISTENTLY working on my personal development journey⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Honestly I dont think I've ever made it passed 2 weeks of working towards tasks, goals, or challenges consecutively⁣⁣
⁣⁣
There was always a fallout right around the 11th day or even before that. Its literally only been about 20 days but It feels so different, I feel sturdy in my routine, I love what I'm doing, I'm growing in new ways, figuring myself out, loving myself more and more, all while getting closer and closer to that over all health⁣⁣
⁣⁣
It all started with allowing myself to process and understand my feelings. Allowing myself to feel pround, listening to my body, learning how to talk to myself, and realizing how to handle my emotions⁣⁣

Little reminder this lovely Tuesday.

If things start to seem overwhelming or aren't quite going your way, its okay.

It's okay to take a step back, take a breather, or maybe even a walk.

Progress is realizing your making a better decision then you used to.

Knowing where you went wrong in the past and not making that mistake again.

Instead your steering in the other direction, the positive direction, the direction of growth, the direction in which your heading straight for your success.

Keep going in that direction and before you know it, what your dreaming of will be right before you.

You just gotta keep going.

All this change came from me finally deciding to fully commit to myself, my passions and dreams.⁣

While making small adjustments here and there, I've learned how important it is to actually commit to myself.⁣

And even better, I realized I was crappy at it, so crapy I was the holding myself back this WHOLE TIME.⁣

These passed 2 weeks especially, have been so eye opening,⁣

Feeling the joy of progress and being proud because this is the furthest I've made it with my self development.⁣

My body, my mind and over all feelings have all made incredible progress. ⁣

Understanding the value or consistently, getting better at controlling my thoughts, winning battles against my ego, learning who's boss.⁣

After realizing all this growth came from me, my choices, I was shocked. ⁣

What if I never changed, how much longer would I go being unhappy?⁣

TIME IS NOW, theres always something you could do to improve your situation. Even if it's the simplest thing it's never going to help unless you FULLY COMMIT to it.

I want more out of my life, I want to be able to do all the crazy things my heart desires.⁣

Like travel anywhere and everywhere.⁣

I'm tired of being broke, and always feeling like I'm never really getting any where.⁣

Never getting closer to my dreams, and for a while just being okay with it.⁣

Until I realized it doesn't have to be this way!⁣

I made a decision to change my future, my path⁣

I joined an amazing successful community, full of water loving entrepreneurs, who helped me create my own online business.⁣

Relationship with yourself, do you follow through with yourself?

Most of the time, the reason for having such low self worth is because your breaking your trust with your self.

Breaking your own promises.

If you can't be there for yourself, how are you going to be there for anyone or anything else?

Follow through with yourself by completing your tasks and goals, dont brush them off.

If you have something planned or have a task in mind that you want to do later. Dont push it aside for days then forget about it.

By following through with yourselve, you build trust with in, while building self worth, confidence and a better bond with yourself, thoughts, and dreams.

Once you start showing up for yourself, everything will begin to fall into place 💫

I feel like 2020 is going to be big, I probably don't even know how big yet. I just know what I want my life to be like in the new year.

Obviously its harder then that, but to start I made a couple different goals to start this new decade with.

My 2020 Personal Goals: working on things that are holding me back.
👊🏻
A. Drinking - work towards being an occasional drinker, starting with a dry January.
B. Sticking to a morning routine, set wake up time, yoga, and journaling.
C. Having self control / self awareness in all situations.
D. TV, cutting tv down to twice a week and only allowed to watch informative shows / a documentary.
🏃🏻‍♀️
My 2020 Fitness / Health Goals: just focused on getting fit and being healthy.

A. Stay consistent, with my fitness and health to achieve a 20% body fat by March
B. Go vegetarian and work towards going vegan. For my health and the environment.
C. Staying consistent with yoga and stretching to achieve a hand stand by March 13

As I was writing these goals out with pen and paper it became real, I could see it with my eyes and read it. Not just think about it and soon forget it.

With the New Year coming tomorrow, I encourage everyone to write at least one goal out for the new year and see how great and motivated you feel, enjoy it.
