We are proud to announce that our associate Jaime has been selected as a 2020 Emerging Leader by Women in Defence and Security! Here's why:

"Jaime is an exceptional mentor who has the ability to identify areas for improvement and then work with an individual to develop a unique path for them to become better leaders and managers. Jaime also provides advice on a range of operational and human resource issues.

Jaime completed almost 3 months as the senior medical NCM for the 200 person task force assisting in the care for residents in Ontario long term care homes during COVID-19. Her leadership in this stressful and high-paced situation was outstanding."

Congratulations to Jaime and all the other recipients of this honour. You can learn more about it on the WiDS website: https://www.wids.ca/cms/Emerging-Leaders

As a community, we come together to connect, to reflect, and to celebrate our collective progress in creating a diverse and inclusive defence and security community.

"No woman, idiot, lunatic, or criminal shall vote." Election Act of Canada, 1890.

Thankfully this law is no longer in effect! While the past 100 years have seen many efforts to extend the franchise to more of us, low voter turnout among young Canadians, Indigenous people, ethnocultural minorities and special needs communities remains a problem. Elections Canada continues to work towards increasing voter turnout among these groups to ensure that they are fairly represented in our democracy. We are concerned that careless disregard for #HealthandSafety regulations on a construction site will end in tragedy, and quick fixes that only last as long as Ministry of Labour inspectors are on site are not enough. The parties involved must make every effort to prevent any future incidents so that when the #LRT is finally up and running, every #worker who helped make it happen is alive and well to see it.
Not sure if you or a coworker is being bullied? Watch this video to learn about both overt and subtle forms of #bullying. #BystanderIntervention techniques can help address some of these behaviors, but they should also be brought to the attention of your #union rep, if you have one. If you are facing bullying or harassing behavior at work and aren't unionized, Jewitt McLuckie & Associates LLP may be able to help you - please call, email or message us. #WeFightTheGoodFight, because everyone deserves to be safe and supported at work!
