VRapeutic is a UNICEF Innovation Fund portfolio software house, specializing in the development of rehabilitation and therapeutic solutions, with a focus on developmental and learning special abilities including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, in addition to others. Taking a scientific research-based approach, our product lines involve:
1) Innovative virtual reality-based curricula specially designed to i
nstill essential life skills in children under four categories which are social, cognitive, motor, and academic skills. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Aliaa Rehan is now a member of VRapeutic's advisory board.
Dr. Aliaa got her PhD in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. She is now a professor of orthopedic physical therapy, with extensive academic, clinical, and research experiences in the spine, biomechanics, and rehabilitation technology, particularly with VR, wearables, and hand-held devices.
Dr. Aliaa’s considerable experience will contribute to the development and validation of products that address the habilitation and rehabilitation of gross motor skills in children and young adults. She will also contribute to realizing a top-notch experience for the different user groups including trainers (therapists, physicians, parents) and trainees (children and young adults).

Scientific research has shown promising results from video simulation as an intervention approach for developmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder. Virtual reality, through its inherent immersion that is provided by head-mounted displays (HMDs), takes the promise of video simulation one step forward by empowering users with a better and more natural spatial presence.

يُعد عُسر الكتابة أحد الاضطرابات العصبية والذي يُعرف بصعوبات في الكتابة حيث تنتج عنه كتابة متعرجة وغير صحيحة. يصعب على ذوي اضطراب عُسر الكتابة:
•كتابة الحروف بشكل صحيح وواضح
•مراعاة التباعد بين الحروف
•التهجئة
كما أنهم يواجهون بعض المشكلات المتعلقة بالتنسيق الحركي الدقيق والقواعد النحوية ومُعدل كتابتهم بطيء وغير ثابت.
Qu’est-ce que c’est la dysgraphie ?
La dysgraphie est un désordre neurologique qui se caractérise par des troubles d’écriture. Ceux qui souffrent de dysgraphie ont l’écriture déformée et parfois incorrecte. En plus, ils rencontrent des problèmes en écrivant comme : la formation des lettres, la lisibilité, l’espace entre les lettres, des fautes l’orthographe, coordination motrice fine, taux d’écriture, fautes de grammaire, et composition de phrases.

أثناء قراءة ذوي عُسر القراءة يقومون بغير قصد بتبديل الحروف وقلبها أو عكسها مما يصعب عليهم إدراك الحروف أو التمييز بينهم. تساعد منسقات الخطوط مثل "Dyslexie" الأفراد الذين يعانون من عسر القراءة حيث تمكنهم من التمييز بين الحروف بشكل أسهل. الحروف في "Dyslexie" أكثر سُمكاً في القاعدة من جزءها العلوي كما أن شكلها غير متماثل.

Les personnes dyslexiques, en lisant, ont tendance à intervertir, tourner par inadvertance et refléter les lettres ce qui rend plus difficile la reconnaissance et la distinction entre les lettres. Les applications de polices comme « Dyslexie » facilitent aux personnes dyslexiques la distinction entre les différentes lettres. هل تعلم أن تقسيم المهام للطفل يساعده علي اتمامها بشكل كبير؟
• يرى أحيانا الطفل المصاب باضطراب فرط الحركة وتشتت الانتباه أن المهام معقدة وغير ممتعة وقد يكون الطفل مغمور وغير قادر علي التركيز على نقطة البداية لذلك تقسيم المهام إلي مهام أصغر يسهل عليه القيام بها وانجازها.
• فعلي سبيل المثال بدلاً من أن تطلب منه أن ينظم غرفته من الأفضل أن تقسم المهمة إلى عدة مهام أصغر وأسهل مثل: نظم سريرك ،اجمع ألعابك ثم ضعها في أماكنها.

• L’enfant atteint de TDAH trouvent souvent les tâches très compliqués et désengagés. Aussi, ils deviennent accablés de temps en temps et sont incapables de se concentrer et de savoir d’où ils doivent commencer.
Alors, c’est avantageux de leur découper les tâches en des tâches plus simples, possible à achever.
• Par exemple, au lieu de demander à l’enfant d’organiser leur chambre, c’est meilleur de leur faciliter diviser la tâche en des plus petites taches, citons : faites votre lit, ramassez vos jouets, et mettez-les à leurs places.

تعرفه مؤسسة عسر القراءة البريطانية كونه أحد صعوبات التعلم التي تؤثر بشكل أساسي على مهارات قراءة الكلمات وتهجئتها بدقة وطلاقة فيعتبر عسر القراءة سلسلة متصلة من صعوبات القراءة والكتابة معاً. أما المشاكل المرتبطة بعسر القراءة فلا تعكس قدرات الفرد العقلية ولا تؤثر علي ذكاءه.
C’est quoi la dyslexie ?
Selon l’association britannique de dyslexie, c’est un trouble d’apprentissage qui affecte principalement les compétences de la lecture courante et précise des mots et l'exactitude de leur orthographe. En fait, la dyslexie n’est pas un genre particulier de trouble d’apprentissage mais elle appartient à la difficulté de la lecture et de l'écriture. Les problèmes liés à la dyslexie n’altèrent pas les compétences cognitives de l’individu ni affectent-elles son l’intelligence.

يعد اضطراب تشتت الانتباه وفرط الحركة أحد اضطرابات النمو العصبية الاكثر شيوعا بين الأطفال. وفقا لخدمة الصحة الوطنية في بريطانيا حوالي 8.4 بالمئة من الأطفال يعانون من اضطراب تشتت الانتباه وفرط الحركة. تنقسم أعراض هذا الاضطراب إلى قسمين من المشكلات السلوكية : عدم الإنتباه وفرط النشاط مع الاندفاع.
يشمل اضطراب فرط الحركة وتشتت الإنتباه الأعراض التالية:
• قصر فترة الإنتباه وسهولة التشتت

C’est quoi le TDAH?
Le trouble déficitaire d’attention avec hyperactivité est l’un des plus connus désordres neurologiques développés de l’enfance. Selon le service de santé national du Royaume-Uni, 8.4% des enfants sont diagnostiqués avec TDAH. Les symptômes du TDAH peuvent être divisés en 2 catégories de problèmes comportementaux : l’inattention, et l’hyperactivité avec impulsivité.
Parmi les symptômes de l’TDAH :
• Avoir un court durée d’attention et être facilement distrait
• Ne pas être capable de rester assis sans rien faire surtout dans les environnements calmes

VRapeutic is pleased to announce the partnership with Nile Juniors therapy centers in El-Mahalla El-Kobra for developing therapeutic software using VR technology, under the supervision of Prof. Ibrahim Hammooda, the General Manager of Nile Juniors, and Dr. Loay El-Sayed, the Research and Partnership Officer at Baraaem El-Neel. The software addresses motor disorders and disabilities. We are looking forward to developing cutting-edge and research-backed intervention tools that transform digital healthcare, locally, regionally, and globally.❤️
