Ciara Jean Yoga Movement, Mindfulness + Massage ~ Vinyasa Flow, Yin, AcroYoga + Thai Massage Ciara fell in love with yoga in 2002 initially as a means of exercise, but over time more for the sense of balance, grace, inner power and harmony it has welcomed into her life.

Through her practice, she has developed a new appreciation for what the body is capable of as well as the multitude of health benefits that yoga has to offer. Sometimes we forget that everything we’re looking for ~ the way we deeply desire to feel ~ already exists within us. We aren’t missing anything. We aren’t broken. We just forget or get a little lost along the way.

Take a moment. Be still. Remember: You {much like you’ve always been} are exactly who, what and where you need to be.

Breathe and bring to your surface what you need to carry you forward. You are complete…and you’re doing great.

Join Andrew and I at Centennial Park {Smiths Falls by the water tower} for an hour of twosome yoga fun at this lighthearted partner-based class hosted by @riseyogafest!

Setting the mood to move and flow together on your mats without hesitation, we begin with a gentle warm up and guide you through an interactive partner practice. We start with the basics of partner yoga, ease into a light introduction to AcroYoga that will have you flirting with your comfort zone and unwind with some sweet restoration together.

Breathe into and expand the depths of your heart.

Breathe out and notice a sense of softening around your heart.

Repeat 7-10 times and feel the connection as you soften into yourself.

Wherever you stand, be the soul of that place.

Feeling thankful for my travel credit from last summer’s cancelled trip to zip off to BC to be with my fam before diving back in to the studios. It’s been 2 years since I’ve squeezed them…and about that long since I’ve taken adequate, proper reconnect time. So ready to be in my home away from home again.

As a result, the nook virtual schedule will look a little different next week {and the scenery will reflect that}. Reduced schedule, but still hanging out til the 23rd. After that, I’m officially taking a formal vacation to enjoy my family and time out west from the 24th until after the August long weekend. Words can’t describe how excited I am to see them and to find the sweet inspiration that comes from every pause.

Love you all loads and looking forward to seeing you {virtually next week}…and IN STUDIO in august!!!

Delicately blended together with meaningful movement and opportunity for introspection, this practice is perfect for beginners and avid yogis alike. Explore mindfulness, light mobility-infused grounded flows and static poses to help nurture body, mind and spirit.

Please join me for this donation-based practice to honour and acknowledge the recent residential school discoveries, Canada’s history with its original peoples and the generational impacts all of this has. This Vinyasa & Yin practice will focus on resiliency ~ sending good thoughts & strength to those closely affected by this news and cultivating same as an indigenous-ally as you lean into the necessary discomfort while you continue to act, support and learn.

This weekend marked a decade of teaching.

For a long while, I grew up unsure about what I wanted to do for a living…until I stepped foot in a yoga studio for the first time.

The community. The unity. The energy. As my Auntie would say, “ho-lay!”

I practiced for about 8 years at home before ever experiencing a live class, but there’s something so special when you’re practicing amongst others. It has the capacity to humble, heal & inspire.

I knew quickly that this was my calling ~ to share my love & knowledge of the body and mindful movement infused with creativity, spirituality & empathy intended to bring you back into a more optimal state of well-being in a safe, nurturing & inclusive environment.

To my students past, present & future who trust me with their body, mind & soul, who ask questions, who laugh with me when I stumble, who always have so much to teach me & who show up for themselves day after day…I am so thankful for your presence, love & support.

To the studios & managers who have offered me the sweetest opportunities to grow as an educator & share with the community, I am grateful for your support, feedback, connections & places to call home.

Some extra special love to the 85+ of you who responded to a recent IG story or reached out via email to express solidarity, the desire to take action & the effort to learn…My heart. Niawen’kó:wa {thank you so much}.

For my allies in motion wanting to make a difference for the Indigenous community, I have the tremendous honour of teaching a beautiful Strawberry Moon virtual yoga practice Saturday morning at 11:30 in support of @anduhyaun ~ a not-for-profit, charitable agency that is committed to providing culturally-inclusive, safe spaces for Toronto’s Indigenous women. They do some pretty incredible work. Donations are sliding scale & start at $5. It would mean so much to share this offering with you.
