Peer-led wellness recovery, trauma-informed care, and EDIA consulting. Bridging virtual and in-person community support. "We're peers, not pros."
Welcome to Angus By Design Consulting.

I specialize in creating inclusive, peer-led wellness programs, trauma-informed workshops, and community education rooted in dignity, connection, and lived experience. Guided by the philosophy of focusing on the soul, not the role, my mission is to empower individuals, non-profits, and community groups to cultivate resilience and authentic wellbeing.

What I Offer:

WRAP® Facilitation: Guiding participants through Wellness Recovery Action Plan Seminars I & II to build personalized, self-directed wellness tools. Supporting families, groups and organizations to implement planning.

Emotional CPR (eCPR): Practical practice for community members and frontline workers to connect, be present, and support others in emotional distress.

Trauma-Informed & EDIA Consulting: Helping groups implement identity-affirming spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ peers, veterans, and diverse community members.

Wellbeing Mentorship & Personal Medicine Coaching: Individualized, strengths-based guidance focused on personal autonomy and holistic recovery.

I believe access to care should be equitable, which is why my fee structures are designed to be flexible and responsive to the needs of community organizations, independent partners, and especially individuals.

"I work at a hotel front desk and we have to write reports whenever guests complain about long waits or other issues.

Last weekend I wrote that check ins were delayed because we were understaffed. There was literally one person working the desk with a fully booked hotel.

My manager pulled me aside and told me to change it to "unexpected high guest volume" because regional management reads these reports.

We had two weddings booked that weekend for months. They also chose not to replace a coworker who quit because they're trying to save money on payroll.

There was nothing unexpected about any of this lol.

So now we're supposed to document problems, but not the actual reasons those problems happen."

A short video commemorating the rich history of ATU Local 113 and its hardworking members who have been keeping Toronto moving for over 113 years.

This video commemorates the 113-year history of ATU Local 113, the union representing Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) workers. It highlights the dedication, skill, and unity of the workforce that keeps Toronto moving.

Key themes include:

Determination (0:57 - 2:34): The union's history of fighting for the right to organize, fair wages, and safer working conditions, including securing the first eight-hour day for transit workers in North America.

Skill (2:36 - 3:57): The diverse expertise of its members, from operators and mechanics to electricians, who are highly trained to maintain and operate one of the continent's most efficient transit systems.

Family (3:59 - 5:04): A look at the union's civic-minded nature, from supporting members during the Great Depression to today's charitable work, medical research funding, and efforts to fight child hunger.

Unity (5:06 - 6:20): A history of political advocacy, protecting workers' rights during labor disputes, and standing up against threats to job security and public transit services.
