Lean Muscle Phase!

When I want to add a few more pounds of lean muscle, I will execute a 12 - 16 week Lean Muscle program.

I still want to see minimal increase in body fat during this program, but you have to anticipate 1-2% increase, since to add muscle you have to also have a calorie surplus. The secret sauce is to still follow a meal plan that has "just enough" surplus calories - but don't overdo it!

My preferred training split for Bulking is a 5 day a week split:

Day 1 - Chest, Traps & Abs
Day 2 - Quads & Calves
Day 3 - Shoulders, Traps & Abs
Day 4 - Back & Hamstrings
Day 5 - Biceps & Triceps

Rest Days on Monday and Friday.

Lean Muscle Phase!

When I want to add a few more pounds of lean muscle, I will execute a 12 - 16 week Lean Muscle program.

Set Goals and Visualize The Future

Itโ€™s also very important to visualize your future and how you want to look, as well as scenarios and how you will feel. For example, visualize how you feel being out at a cottage party with your friends and your arms are finally big and filling out the sleeves of your t-shirts. How will you feel in that exact scenario?

The more you visualize about scenarios in which you have reached your goals, the more motivated youโ€™ll be to give 100% each time in the gym.

When Iโ€™m pushing through a difficult set, or struggling to get out of bed, I visualize the future that I am headed towards. This takes my mind off the pain and keeps me on track.

Write down the answers to these questions now:
โˆซ Why do you want to gain lean muscle?
โˆซ How much weight are you going to gain and by when?
โˆซ How will you suffer if you donโ€™t stick to your goal? (identify the pain)

Fitness starts in your mind. Ask any athlete or fit person what the number one secret is to his success at fitness, and he will tell you it is commitment.

Commitment means that you are in it for the long haul. Commitment rises above bad days, hectic schedules and volatile emotions. Commitment hangs in there when you donโ€™t want to do it, when you donโ€™t feel like doing it and when you donโ€™t have time to do it.

True commitment doesnโ€™t depend on how you feel. It depends on your integrity and on living for the purpose you have set for yourself.

It's #FlexFriday ๐Ÿ’ช. Have a great #flexfriday my friends and make it a great one.

Some people might think that flexing your muscle might be vain or full of ego but I look at it much much different than what those people might look at.

Here is what I see:
No matter where you are in your journey, you are strong. No matter what is thrown at you by the sometimes dramatic thing called life, you are strong and able to take it head on. No matter how many variances you see on that evil little box called a scale, you are a master of your own destiny and you are a champion of strength. No matter how embarrassed you may be from terms like flappers and non-existent muscles, you throw them up there to show your pride in your SELF. I see it as so much more than just people flexing their bicep and taking a photo of it, I see it as a symbol of greatness, a symbol of strength, a symbol of stepping out of your comofrt zone.

So, it is so much more than just a photo with a hashtag on it โ€ฆ it is a symbol.

So today, throw them guns ๐Ÿ’ช up in the air and show em off โ€ฆ and join the front of strong, amazing, driven, focused, gritty, determined and successful people and represent. And even if you don't step out of your comfort zone and post a photo, then make sure that you journal your thoughts of the reason why you are strong, why you can achieve anything and why you are a rockstar to invest in yourself.

Set Goals and Visualize The Future Itโ€™s also very important to visualize your future and how you want to look, as well as scenarios and how you will feel. For example, visualize how you feel being out at a cottage party with your friends and your arms are finally big and filling out the sleeves of your t-shirts. How will you feel in that exact scenario? The more you visualize about scenarios in which you have reached your goals, the more motivated youโ€™ll be to give 100% each time in the gym. When Iโ€™m pushing through a difficult set, or struggling to get out of bed, I visualize the future that I am headed towards. This takes my mind off the pain and keeps me on track. Write down the answers to these questions now: โˆซ Why do you want to gain lean muscle? โˆซ How much weight are you going to gain and by when? โˆซ How will you suffer if you donโ€™t stick to your goal? (identify the pain) โˆซ What will life be like once you reach your goal? โˆซ How will you look, how will you feel, how will people treat you?
