Come Join us this Saturday for Doughnation Day! We are raising funds for the Roger Neilson House an amazing organization part of the CHEO family and very near and dear to our hearts. So far our wonderful community has donated over $5500 this year smashing our original goal of $4000. Our new goal is to raise $7000 with $2 from every pack of Hot Cross Buns sold this Saturday also being added to the tally. Four delicious flavours to choose from or your can mix and match to try them all! Hope to see you there!
This is how we feel about rude, abusive and threatening msgs.

Now most of you will read this and think ‘my word who would ever troll a VOLUNTEER page who has raised over $300,000 for Roger Neilson House - GREAT question we wish we had a better answer for you.

Now we are warrior mommas and dads over here at Butterfly Run Ottawa, who have walked hard seasons, so when I say we take life with a grain of salt and have thick skin trust me we can handle a lot.

BUT.

What we aren’t willing to put up with is abusive messages that go off on profanity filled tirades, threatening to spread hate and misinformation about the VOLUNTEERS who put this event together.

FULL STOP.

We will bless you and block you. And when you slide into the DM’s of our team’s personal accounts - we will report you for harassment. We do not play when it comes to hate speech or threats.

We pride ourselves on being a safe space for all parents - and that includes our volunteers.

So now that, that is over let’s collectively take a deep breath and repeat “The anger people launch at you is their own. You didn’t cause it, and you cannot fix it. All you can do is release it. “

✌️💙🦋

Our executive team is looking for you! After another incredible year where we have YOU to thank for helping us raise $90,000 for Roger Neilson House, we are looking to expand our team for the 2022 season.
Would you like to represent your family and use your voice to support the loss community of Ottawa? We’d love to have you join our established team and help us reach new and amazing goals in 2022!
Drop us a line or email us at [email protected]

CHEO
"When people think of palliative care, they think it must be awful ...but it can be very beautiful. It was more about his life than it was about his death."
– Kimberley Waara, who received care from the Roger Neilson House in Ottawa
'A step forward for Canada'. We applaud CHEO for becoming the first Canadian hospital to offer a medical residency for pediatric palliative care. The accredited program will move the discipline forward and enhance the standards of care.

This Ottawa couple bravely share their story of how their son Ethan became one of the first newborns at the perinatal hospice in Roger Neilson House
THANK YOU!
With your help our Santa Frames have raised $500 that we sent to the Butterfly Run Ottawa for Roger Neilson House!
I'm grateful that after we applied pressure to the Liberal government, we were able to have Conservative MP Tom Kmiec's legislation around bereavement leave added to Bill C-3.
This will extend bereavement leave to 8 weeks of unpaid leave for parents who have experienced a stillbirth, the death of a child under 18, or the death of a disabled child in the parents care.
Seeing important, compassionate legislation pass through Parliament is what this is all about, and I am so glad that empathy and common sense prevailed to get this passed.
Although I am excited by this victory, there is more to be done to ensure that families who have suffered pregnancy and infant loss are shown the compassion they deserve from the government.
I will continue to fight for these families.
