How Jon Got Rid of His Depression & Anhedonia

I’d like you to meet Jon.

Before he started working with me, Jon was struggling with depression, anhedonia and low motivation.

He was doing his own research.

He was trying lots of supplements.

But he wasn't getting anywhere with his health.

He just couldn't figure it out on his own.

He eventually realized he needed a coach and a mentor.

He needed advice and guidance from someone who had actually gone through it.

Otherwise, he would continue struggling.

So Jon decided to join our Brain Recovery Accelerator program.

Now, his depression is a thing of the past.

He's now living a happy and productive life.

The other day, I had a conversation with Jon over Zoom.

He shared his story and talked about his journey back to health.

You can watch my conversation with Jon below.

If you’re doing everything you can to overcome your depression and it’s not working...

It’s possible you’re following bad advice and focusing on the wrong information.

And so it may be time to try something different.

Jon tried something different, and it paid off big time.

If you're interested in learning more about what Jon did to overcome his depression, watch this video presentation: https://pages.optimallivingdynamics.com/registration/

16 Powerful Ways to Quickly Increase Your NAD Levels — Optimal Living Dynamics

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) is a very important coenzyme in your body.

It exists in two forms: NAD+ and NADH.

NAD+ is more important to pay attention to though.

Because when you have higher levels of NAD+, you’re healthier and have more vitality.

And when you have low levels of NAD+, you feel sick and weak.

Some researchers refer to NAD+ as the “molecule of youth” because NAD+ levels dramatically drop as we age.

But lower NAD+ levels aren’t simply a sign of aging.

Even in younger individuals, poor nutrition and unhealthy lifestyle choices can lead to lower NAD+ levels.

Low physical and mental energy is one of the first signs that your NAD+ levels aren’t as high as they could be.

But it goes beyond that.

Your thinking may be slower, you might have memory problems, or you're just not as quick and agile as you used to be.

Luckily, there are a number of ways to naturally increase your NAD+ levels.

This post shares the 15 best natural ways.

Some of the benefits you’ll experience by increasing your NAD+ levels include better memory, enhanced endurance, and improved mental clarity.

Read this article to learn how to raise your NAD+ levels naturally.

Anti-inflammatory agents can effectively and safely curb major depressive symptoms, study suggests: Effects even stronger when added to antidepressant treatment, pooled data analysis shows

A recent analysis concluded that anti-inflammatory agents, including omega-3 fatty acids and n-acetyl-cysteine, can curb the symptoms of major depression.

The agents were 52% more effective in reducing symptom severity, overall, and 79% more effective in eliminating symptoms than placebo.

This isn't too surprising considering that there's now a lot of evidence suggesting that inflammation contributes to the development of major depression.

N-Acetyl-Cysteine is one of the anti-inflammatory agents shown to reduce depression, and I previous wrote about it here: www.optimallivingdynamics.com/blog/the-powerful-antioxidant-proven-to-treat-6-mental-illnesses

Another step you can take is eating an anti-inflammatory diet.

You can download my free food guide for a list of anti-inflammatory foods you should be eating on a regular basis: www.optimallivingdynamics.com/subscribe

Anti-inflammatory agents, such as aspirin/paracetamol, statins, and antibiotics, can safely and effectively curb the symptoms of major depression, finds a pooled analysis of the available evidence.

The 22 Best Natural Treatments and Remedies for OCD

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a chronic mental disorder characterized by obsessions (repetitive thoughts) and compulsions (repetitive actions).

Antidepressant medication is the standard treatment for OCD.

But many people prefer to manage and treat their OCD without having to rely on drugs.

Researchers have studied many different natural treatments for OCD, and this article explores the most promising ones.

Study: Neurofeedback and Methylphenidate May Improve ADHD Inattention Equally

A recent study compared the effectiveness of neurofeedback and methylphenidate (Ritalin).

There was no statistically significant difference between the two treatments in improving attention.

Both neurofeedback and Ritalin were equally effective in reducing inattention.

However, unlike stimulant medication, neurofeedback doesn't have negative side effects, and the benefits persist long after you stop treatment.

Neurofeedback is one of the best things I did for myself.

It's a shame it's not the first-line treatment for children with ADHD.

Instead, doctors load them up with drugs.

Neurofeedback may also improve mental health by stimulating the vagus nerve.

Lyme disease and traumatic brain injuries share a similar clinical presentation.

And they can also both cause mental health symptoms.

The researchers tested and found that an alarming number of individuals suffering from PCS also had Lyme disease.

Updated Article: 7 Important Nutrients Depleted by Psychiatric Drugs

When I was on psychiatric medication, I felt better initially.

But then something just didn’t feel right.

I started suffering from cognitive decline, something I hadn't experienced before.

I eventually got fed up with the medication and tried getting off of them.

But then I felt remarkably worse – much worse than I did before starting the medication.

Doctors simply told me I was experiencing a relapse of my depression and anxiety.

But that couldn’t be it, because not only were my symptoms much worse, but I also had new symptoms — symptoms I didn't have before I went on medication.

So I did some research, and discovered something called “drug-induced nutrient depletion”.

Studies show that pharmaceutical drugs can deplete your body of critical nutrients.

Over time, nutritional deficiencies can develop, leading to increased symptoms and side effects.

This article discusses seven key nutrients that are commonly depleted by psychiatric medication.

With this information, you can replenish the nutrients, reduce side effects, and feel better.

23 Powerful Ways to Support the Mitochondria in Your Brain — Optimal Living Dynamics

New Post: 23 Powerful Ways to Support the Mitochondria in Your Brain

It’s becoming increasingly clear that chronic mitochondria dysfunction is one of the main underlying factors that contributes to poor brain function and mental illness.

Mitochondria are unique structures within every cell of your body.

You have trillions and trillions of them, making up approximately 10% of your total body weight.

Mitochondria are considered the “powerhouses of the cell,” generating most of the energy in your body.

They convert nutrition into adenosine-5’- triphosphate (ATP).

ATP is your body’s main source of cellular fuel.

You are constantly using ATP, and your brain needs enough of it to work properly.

Mitochondria are especially abundant in your brain cells.

They are involved in many important biological processes within the brain, including the regulation of free radicals and neurotransmitters.

So not surprisingly, numerous studies show that there is a correlation between impaired mitochondrial function in the brain and many psychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases.

Mitochondria dysfunction decreases ATP energy production and increases oxidative stress, which are commonly found in the brains of people suffering from brain and mental health disorders.

Cognitive symptoms of mitochondrial dysfunction include impairments in attention, executive function and memory.

But luckily, there are ways to halt and reverse mitochondrial decay.

This article includes a number of strategies I’ve used over the years to support my mitochondria.

And you can start using them today to regain optimal brain and mental health.

Live Optimally,
Jordan Fallis

Despite growing burden of diet-related disease, medical education does not equip students to provide high quality nutritional care to patients: Researchers call for improved nutrition education to be integrated into the medical curriculum

According to a new systematic review, nutrition is insufficiently incorporated into medical education, meaning that medical students lack the confidence, skills and knowledge to provide nutritional care to patients.

The authors recommend that nutrition education be made compulsory for all medical students, a global benchmark on the required level of nutrition knowledge for future doctors be established, and more funding be put towards developing new ways to teach nutrition in medical school.

Worldwide, nutrition is insufficiently incorporated into medical education, meaning that medical students lack the confidence, skills and knowledge to provide nutritional care to patients, according to a systematic review.

Hi Jordan Read your articles . Learned a great deal of new info. Thanks
I just came across your 31 ways to increase BDNF and will definitely consider once I get off lexipro. BUT seriously I was severely ill with depression and anxiety and even aggression/rage, suicidal thoughts, cutting, etc. upon my pregnancy and even worse with some other out of control instances of life...I tried a lot of these supplements and nothing worked (post pregnancy). After an episode of sleep deprivation due to my sick daughter, I went into a deep dark state and managed to get meds a few days after and literally felt the veil lift within hours of taking the meds. Last option worked like a charm...but I hope its not long term and will consider all your suggestions. Thank you!
