Meet Alisha! She’s an Occupational Therapist with over 10 years of experience supporting clients with a wide range of physical, cognitive, and mental health concerns. She previously worked with the team from 2016–2018 and recently returned to continue providing client-centered rehabilitation services. Get to know her better below ⬇️

1)Favorite part of your job? The variety! One day it’s a job site, the next it’s a hiking trail or someone’s kitchen. I get to meet amazing people, see what matters to them, and help them get back to it.

2) Best coffee shop in town? I’m a coffee lover and rarely meet a cup I don’t like, but lately I enjoy a flat white at Timbertrain.

3) Something you’re looking forward to this fall? Fall is a balancing act between getting back into routine and plotting my escape to somewhere sunny before winter fully sets in.

It’s Memory Lane Monday!

Back in August, one of our occupational therapists had a unique opportunity to support a client with career exploration.

A big thank you to Echo Far Lake Taxidermy in Big Lake Ranch, BC, for welcoming us for a shop tour with a client interested in pursuing training in taxidermy.

Experiences like these help clients explore meaningful vocational goals, gain insight into potential career paths, and discover new possibilities for their future!

One of our Calgary Occupational Therapists, Kristin, was selected to present for the Society of Alberta Occupational Therapists (SAOT) this past month!

Kristin brings extensive experience in home and office ergonomics, as well as industrial and physically demanding workplaces, helping individuals create safer, healthier, and more functional work environments.

Her presentation, Practical Ergonomics for Offices and Industrial Workplaces, was an interactive session filled with great discussions, participation, and questions.

Congratulations, Kristin, on a successful presentation and thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise.

October 10 is World Mental Health Day. 🌎

Mental health is an important part of our overall health and well-being, and taking care of it can look different for everyone.

Whether it’s spending time in nature, connecting with loved ones, moving your body, setting boundaries, or taking a moment to slow down, small actions can make a meaningful difference.

Today is a reminder to check in with yourself, support those around you, and remember that it’s okay to ask for help when you need it.

Help us fill bowls and support our communities!

This October, our offices across British Columbia and Alberta are collecting boxes of cereal to support local food banks!

We invite you to join us in giving back by dropping off a box of cereal at one of our offices throughout the month.

Every box makes a difference!

The Creative Therapy Consultants Penticton team is getting ready to introduce a new FES bike to support clients with appropriate neurological conditions, and we’re looking for volunteers with a history of spinal cord injury or stroke to help with an upcoming staff training session.

A trainer will be joining our team in November to provide hands-on education on electrode placement, bike setup, and individual use.

If you or someone you know may be interested in volunteering, please reach out to learn more!

September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Today, we honour the Survivors of residential schools, the children who never returned home, and the families and communities who continue to be impacted by this history.

We recognize that reconciliation requires ongoing learning, reflection, and action, and we remain committed to listening to and learning from Indigenous voices.
