There’s a quiet strength in her expression, surrounded by wild grasses, delicate leaves, and flowing ivory. I wanted this portrait to feel a little dreamlike, with soft texture and movement around her while her gaze holds your attention.

A little Photoshop tip: explore the Filter menu and try different techniques to see what they bring to your image. Filter Gallery is a good place to experiment with textured finishes. Work on a duplicate layer so you can compare the effect with your original. A layer mask lets you soften the effect in specific areas, keeping detail in the eyes and face while allowing more texture elsewhere. Sometimes it’s those finishing touches that bring an image together.

Confidence isn’t about being the loudest person in the room. It’s about knowing who you are, owning your individuality, and showing up unapologetically as yourself.

A little attitude, a lot of personality, and absolutely no need to fit anyone else’s mould.

Unapologetically her.

The cauldron bubbles, the shadows creep, and something stirs beneath her feet.
The skulls have stories. The spiders are watching. And whatever she’s brewing tonight… you might not want to stick around to find out.

What an incredible weekend at LightMatters 2026 with the
Professional Photographers of Canada in Grand Prairie.

I am truly honoured to have had the opportunity to speak and share a little of my creative journey, from where I started in photography and Photoshop to where I am today.

During my presentation, I shared how I find inspiration, develop ideas, and bring them to life through whimsical compositing. We explored different Photoshop tools, techniques, and creative approaches that can help us grow as photographers, regardless of where we are in our journey.

But beyond the presentation, what made this weekend so special was the people.

I feel incredibly blessed to be surrounded by such a talented and supportive community. People who genuinely cheer each other on, celebrate one another’s successes, share their knowledge, and encourage each other to keep growing.

Photography can be a very personal journey, and having people who believe in you, sometimes even before you believe in yourself, means more than words can express.

Thank you to everyone who attended, shared a laugh, asked questions, and made me feel so welcome. I walked away feeling just as inspired as I hope you did.

This is what I love about our photography community. We don’t just grow as photographers. We help each other grow.

Some portraits tell their story quietly.
Soft light, black and white, and a moment of stillness. I love how the simplest setting can leave room for the most personal details.

Meet Sir Milo, my daughter’s cat, who clearly believes he was born into royalty.

With his regal attire, commanding stare, and an attitude that suggests we are all merely his loyal subjects, Milo is ready to take his rightful place in the royal court.

His Royal Highness, Sir Milo, Duke of Catnip and Keeper of the Treats.

All hail Sir Milo!

Somewhere Between Two Worlds… 🧜‍♀️

There’s something magical about creating a world that doesn’t exist, but for just a moment, makes you believe it could.

This piece was all about imagination, bringing together the beauty of the ocean, a little fantasy, and the mystery of what might be hiding beneath the surface.

One of my favourite things about composite photography is that there are no rules to where your imagination can take you. A photograph is just the beginning. The rest is where the magic happens.

Because sometimes, reality just needs a little imagination. ✨

Today this beautiful trophy arrived in the mail, and I’m honestly still taking it all in.

I am incredibly honoured to receive the Terry Robertson Master Class Award at the 2026 PPOC Image Salon. To have my work recognized alongside so many talented artists across Canada means more than I can properly put into words.

A huge thank you to the Professional Photographers of Canada for continuing to create spaces that encourage creativity, growth, storytelling, and artistry within our industry. The support and community within PPOC have played such an important role in my journey.

And thank you to Think Tank for sponsoring this award and supporting photographers and artists in such a meaningful way. Your support helps celebrate and encourage the creative community across Canada.

Truly grateful, humbled, and inspired to keep creating. ❤️

Tomorrow night I’ll be speaking with the Images Alberta Camera Club and I’m incredibly excited to share my presentation:

✨ Whimsical Portraiture: Where Imagination Becomes Art ✨

We’ll be diving into creativity, storytelling, compositing, Photoshop techniques, and the process of turning ideas into fully realized whimsical imagery. From creative blocks and inspiration to building complex composites, I’ll be sharing both the artistic and technical side behind my work.

I’m looking forward to an evening filled with imagination, learning, and conversation with fellow creatives. Thank you so much to Images Alberta Camera Club for having me!

See you tomorrow night!
