You are ONE self: physical, hormonal, emotional and spiritual.

I call the 3 emotions north of the PHYSICAL RESPONSE line as PLEASANT EMOTIONS. We would all like to stay Pleasant all day with JOYFUL, POWERFUL or PEACEFUL emotions. Essential oils can help with that.

The 3 south of the PHYSICAL RESPONSE line I call unPLEASANT EMOTIONS. At times (hopefully not all day) we find ourselves acting out unPleasant Emotions: SCARED, MAD or SAD. It is healthy to feel these unPleasant emotions, but not 24/7.

Essential oils can help you SHIFT from unPleasant to Pleasant emotions. It works nearly 100% of the time.

FEELING SCARED: Close your eyes, take 5 deep inhalations of Orange oil.
FEELING MAD: Close your eyes, take 5 deep inhalations of Cedarwood essential oil.
FEELING SAD: Close your eyes, take 5 deep inhalations of Lemongrass oil.

Christmas is not always easy, I know after my dad passed away I just didnโ€™t have the heart to celebrate, but I had to put on a brave face for my kids. I cry every time I play my grandmaโ€™s favorite Christmas song and I miss my kid and grandkids . I do however still delight in going out to see the Christmas lights , spending time with friends and decorating the house with lights and Christmas trees.
Take time for yourself, have a good cry and allow the feelings to be.

Rest & Digest Response to Essential Oils

Now we shift to the 15 essential oils that will AUTOMATICALLY trigger a REST & DIGEST response in your BODY-MIND-EMOTIONS. (We will focus on the EMOTIONS later). Again, just inhaling a whiff of any of these 15 essential oils will magically change your body and mind.

Want to fall asleep?
Want to take a nap?
Want to settle down from stress?
Want to calm your anxiety?
Want to get kids to bed?

All it takes is a whiff of any of these 15 โ€œcalming/relaxingโ€ essential oils. Diffuse them in the room. Use a personal diffuser. The response to the essential oil is immediate, but your body and mind may take 10-20 minutes to feel CALM and RELAXED. Some of this delay is due to the circulation of hormones in your bloodstream.

Your REST & DIGEST response works like this: constricts pupils to reduce input of light to prepare you to rest. Stimulates flow of saliva so you can eat and digest food. Slows your heart rate to prepare you to rest or relax. Constricts you respiratory bronchi to allow less air and fewer breathes per minute to account for low physical activity. These are all AUTOMATIC.

Other REST & DIGEST response to these 15 oils: Stimulates secretions for digestive functions. Contracts bladder so you can relieve yourself. Your body is getting ready to digest food or sleep.

If you are a PARENT or CARE-GIVER, you may want to pay attention. You can trigger this REST & DIGEST response in others. They wonโ€™t even know what you are doing when you diffuse these oils.

Here are 15 REST & DIGEST essential oils: Rose, Orange, Tangerine, Bergamot, Geranium, Hong Kuai, Hinoki, Juniper, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Copaiba, Petitgrain, Vanilla, Clary Sage, and Lavender.

I tell people all the time about the power of just smelling an essential oil from the bottle. I have a few favorites I go to, a pine essential oil (black spruce is my favorite) to pick me up and calm me down, Ylang Ylang and lavender to calm my mind and help me drift off to sleep, lemon or orange to give me a sunshine feeling on a cloudy day, peppermint to keep me alert when I need to keep going . Smell is powerful, we all have favorite smells like fresh coffee brewing, fresh baked apple pie, or fresh cut Christmas trees!
Do you have a favorite scent?

How Essential Oil Aroma affects Body-Mind.
I like to discuss how rapidly essential oils act on Body and Mind. It's simple and easy to reproduce when you share essential oils experiences with family, friends, acquaintances, and people you run into in life.

According to this TIMELINE, you are looking at a response within 5 seconds. It takes most of this 5 seconds for you to inhale the essential oil vapors and for your Olfactory neurons to decode the aromas (about 2-4 seconds).

You can share the VALUE of essential oils in a message and experience that takes just 5 seconds to demonstrate. For EXAMPLE:

"I like the quick alert feelings when I smell Peppermint essential oil. Here, take a couple of whiffs from my bottle of Peppermint oil and experience for yourself. YES, you see how INVIGORATING Peppermint creates in your breathing pathways, how CLEAR it makes your mind feel in seconds, and how ALERT your body becomes! All from inhaling Peppermint essential oil."

You don't have to relate this entire Aroma Response Timeline. Just share some examples like above. Most people will be amazed at the COOLING sensation caused by breathing Peppermint oil. Be prepared if they don't like Peppermint. For EXAMPLE:

"Sometimes I need to feel calm and relaxed after a full day of activities. I use Lavender (or other calming oil) to help me trigger my body and mind into a realm of calmness and relaxation. Here, try for yourself by taking 3 whiffs of Lavender from this bottle. YES, you see how 3 whiffs of Lavender help your mind feel calm and you body feel relaxed. Imagine how taking 10 whiffs with your eyes closed will help you prepare for sleep."

You see? If you prepare some easy presentations for the people you know and the people you meet each day, then you can share your passion for essential oils WITHOUT FEAR.

Prepare now. Have a 5ml bottle of Peppermint and Lavender in your purse or pocket. When someone comments how "tired they are" simply bring out your Peppermint to "wake them up and feel alert". You can also respond to the same complaint with "I recommend smelling Lavender before bed to get a full night's sleep for extra energy."

At this time of year so many of us are so stressed and overwhelmed trying to create the perfect Christmas. We are run raddled trying to make it out to all the Christmas concerts, parties, cookie baking swaps, ugly Christmas parties , shopping, wrapping and putting up lights !
Try to take a minute to pause and breathe. Think of what is really important to you, time with family, friends, and give yourself permission to say no to things that donโ€™t line up with what is most important to you.
This year for us has been more about spending time with people, enjoying simple things like the Christmas parade, por lucks with friends and putting up Christmas lights ( we just love all the lights on our block).
Christmas doesnโ€™t have to be so crazy and overwhelming, you can make changes to make your life simpler.
Remember you have choices, choose to breathe , and take time to enjoy some simple things ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ’•

This is a lesson that I think many people still need to learn. It reminds me of my childhood when my Mum would say never cry over spilled milk. So many of us hold on to things that have happened to us in the past and let that become a damaging part of our lives. If it is past and you canโ€™t do anything to change it, then let it go! The only one who suffers is you!
I often find myself thinking about it, and have to catch myself. Live and let live. Do what makes you feel good. Donโ€™t let what others think of you effect you. Enjoy each day as it is a beautiful present ๐Ÿ’

I thought this was a perfect quote today. I know so many people that seem to go from one bad relationship to another and another and they just never seem to know why?!?!
When you find yourself falling I to this pattern you sometimes need to step out and away to look at what you are doing. If we can look at it from a distance we start to see the patterns.
Itโ€™s not easy to brake the cycle and it can be a lonely place to be while you work through it, but the hard work to make the necessary changes will be worth it in the end โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Šโค๏ธ

Regrettably, 1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer's or another firm of dementia. A preclinical model of Alzheimerโ€™s disease found that marjoram essential oil is a promising natural solution to maintain healthy memory and cognition. Inhalation of marjoram essential oil for fifteen minutes for five days over the course of a 21-day period increased antioxidant activity and enhanced brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) expression, which together improved memory and cognitive function. BDNF is a protein found in the brain and spinal cord that promotes the survival of neurons (brain cells) by influencing growth, maturation, and maintenance of these cells.

At birth we board the train and meet our parents , and we believe they will always travel by our side .
As time goes by , other people will board the train , and they will be significant , i.e. our siblings , friends , children , and even the love of your life .
However , at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone .
Others will step down over time and leave a permanent vacuum .
Some , however , will go so unnoticed that we don't realise they've vacated their seats .
The train ride will be full of joy , sorrow , fantasy , expectations , hellos , goodbyes and farewells .
Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers requiring that we give the best of ourselves .
The mystery to everyone is , We do not know at which station we , ourselves will step down .
So we must live in the best way , love. forgive and offer the best of who we are .
It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life .

People come into our lives and people leave. They bring something to us that we need. It may be just in passing (a smile ๐Ÿ˜Š or a helping hand โœ‹) for a period of time ( someone who helps you get through a difficult time or teaches you something) or for a lifetime.

I often hear people say they always feel people are dragging them down, they listen day after day to people who are constantly complaining and negative about everything in their lives! This is no way to live, it drains your energy just being around people like that!
Make sure you surround yourself with people who are positive, the the opportunities In everything and push you to be your best!!

Right now my hubby and I are managing a beautiful provincial campground, which means lots of manual labour. Today it was raking, using the leaf blower to clean sites and w**d wacker to cut the grass and w**ds around sites. After a couple hours I stopped and realized I had some good blisters ! They were hot and sore and burning and my daughter said โ€Mum put lavender on it โ€œ I laughed because I am always telling the kids โ€œput lavender on itโ€ for all their scrapes, cuts and burns but I forgot about doing it for myself! So I put lavender on it and almost immediately the pain was gone and it felt almost a cool relief! I am so glad I have my shelf of essential oils here whenever I need them, sometimes I just need to be reminded to use them ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

Long Covid ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ณโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉนโ˜น๏ธโ€ฆโ€ฆ.โ€ฆโ€ฆ.This is what it means for me living with Long Covid.

My ears๐Ÿ‘‚ never stop ringing, some days are louder than others but it never stops. My lungs๐Ÿซ feel like they are coated with something that stops me from getting enough oxygen, like I am slowly suffocating. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ My chest hurts, half burning ,half achy cramp. Some days my heart โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉนpounds so hard it makes me feel ill. ๐Ÿคข That awful dry deep Covid cough ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ that takes my breath away, and makes me loose my voice ๐Ÿ—ฃand sometimes leaves my throat raw and lymph nodes in my neck swollen. I tire much easier, I try to get everything done but I usually need to lie down or nap ๐Ÿ˜ด in the late afternoon. My eyesight๐Ÿ˜ณ is not what it was and my brain ๐Ÿง  just doesnโ€™t work right some days. My muscle strength๐Ÿ’ช is not what it was, and my body has aches everywhere.

I am grateful that I am not sick in bed like I was for 6 weeks when I first got Covid but the road to getting back to normal has become a daily struggle.

If you are one of the lucky ones who hasnโ€™t gotten Covid or just had a little cold or no symptoms at all, thank your lucky stars!

Please be patient with those of us that have had a long and difficult journey and realize that for some of us the struggle is ongoing, something we possibly may have to deal with for a long time.

I can be an over emotional mess when listening to a song or watching a tv show. It is the events that I connect to the song or show that really get to me.
Any funeral or death in a show and I remember the sudden and tragic loss of my dad and am in tears. Certain songs remind me of friends who have passed and my voice breaks when I try to sing along.
I used to be embarrassed by this but I have come to learn that this is who I am. I am an emotional being and I feel deeply.
I have many incredible people in my life and when I loose one it leaves a scar.
I hope you donโ€™t berate yourself for feeling deeply it is a special gift to have people who touch your heart ๐Ÿ’— It is ok to feel a loss when they are gone ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ’•
