End of week.

Autumn is quietly arriving — and I love this time of year. Not just for the colours and the crisp air, but for what it reminds me.

Mother nature is preparing. The leaves are letting go, the days are shortening, and everything is moving toward rest. To someone who doesn’t know better it might look like nothing is happening.

But underneath? Everything is preparing for the next cycle. Storing energy. Getting ready.

This week I wrote about the weeks that feel like nothing — the waiting ones, the hard ones, the ones where nothing seems to shift. And autumn is the perfect reminder that those seasons have a purpose too.

Rest is not the absence of progress. Sometimes it’s exactly what the next chapter needs.

Happy weekend. Rest well.

Have you ever received well-meaning advice and weren't 100% sure whether to take it?

Most of the time the intention behind it is pure. Someone cares about you and wants to help. But well-meaning isn't always the same as right for you specifically — especially when it comes to your health.

I've seen it come up in a few ways lately. Someone suggesting a supplement or herb they'd heard was helpful — and it might well be in general, just not for every situation or every body. Or a friend recommending an exercise for a sore back — genuinely good advice in many cases, but potentially the wrong move if it puts strain on muscles that are already healing.

This is exactly where having someone on your team who knows your full picture makes such a difference. Not to dismiss the advice — but to run it through someone who both understands your specific situation AND has the specialist knowledge to evaluate it properly. A homeopath or naturopath who understands herb interactions. A chiropractor, massage therapist or physiotherapist who understands anatomy and how the body heals. Someone who can not only tell you whether something is right for you right now — but explain why. Because that's what good practitioners do. They don't just give you an answer, they help you understand it.

The people in your life who offer this kind of advice love you. And checking it with a specialist honours both their intention and your wellbeing.

This is something that comes up often in my Intuitive Wellness Sessions. Someone has received advice they're not sure about and just needs help figuring out who the right person to ask actually is. Sometimes I know exactly who on their team could help. Sometimes the answer is that they don't have that person on their team yet — and that's where we start.

If that sounds familiar — I'd love to have that conversation with you. You can book a session here: https://www.holisticmystic.ca/book-online

Has well-meaning advice ever led you somewhere unexpected — good or not so good? I'd love to hear.

Do you ever have weeks where you feel like you're winning, weeks that just feel hard, and others where you're simply waiting — stuck in limbo wondering when something will shift?

All of it is part of the journey. Not just the good weeks. Not just the breakthroughs. The waiting and the hard ones too.

I think we forget that sometimes — that the weeks that feel like nothing are still doing something. That the hard ones are teaching us things we couldn't have learned any other way.

Wherever you are in your journey right now — winning week, waiting game or just getting through it — it counts. All of it counts.

Good morning.

Hoping this Sunday finds you with something that fills your cup today — however small or simple that looks right now.

This week I have some things to share. Some practical, some personal, all of it real.

More this week. Happy Sunday!

End of week.

September always feels like a second new year to me. A chance to reset, reassess and ask — what do I actually need right now?

Not what the calendar says. Not what everyone else seems to be doing. What do YOU need?

I hope this week gave you at least one answer to that question.

This week on the blog I wrote about something really practical — how your wellness team doesn’t need to follow the calendar, but your life does. And what that actually looks like when you’re working with a benefits plan and real financial constraints.

Because wellness support should be accessible. And sometimes that means being strategic rather than reactive about when and how you use it.

There’s also something in there about seasonal patterns — and how once you start noticing them, you can’t unsee them.

September brings a reset — routines shift, schedules fill up. But your body doesn't follow the calendar the way you do. Here's how to adjust your wellness team through seasonal transitions without letting the schedule dictate your wellbeing.

First real Tuesday of September.

Long weekend is over, kids are back in school, and everyone is finding their footing in the new routine again. For me that looks like getting up, making breakfast, packing a lunch and somewhere in there finding a quiet moment with my tea before the day takes over.

It’s a short week which helps — but there’s still that collective moment of adjusting.

If today feels like a slow start — that’s okay. September always takes a minute to settle. Be gentle with yourself while it does

September has that particular energy.

Routines shifting. Schedules filling up. That familiar mix of fresh start and slight overwhelm as everything resets again.

This week I wrote about something I think gets missed in all of that transition — what happens to your wellness when the calendar changes. And why your body doesn’t actually care what month it is.

More this week. Happy Sunday.

End of week.

This week I wrote, I shared, I asked questions and you showed up — quietly or loudly, both equally welcome.

After a hard stretch, this week felt like breathing again. Not fully, not without the weight still there. But enough.

That counts for something. Actually it counts for a lot.

Something I've noticed lately — the things that usually comfort me have shifted.

Music has become my constant. Certain songs on repeat that I can't always explain rationally, just that their message reaches something in me that needs it right now.

My current playlist that keeps finding me:

Daylight — David Kushner
Survive — Lewis Capaldi
Lose Control — Teddy Swims
Whiskey's Fine — Adam Doleac
Control — Zoe Wees
Stand Down — Cooper Alan

Some make complete sense. Some surprised me. But I've stopped questioning why they keep showing up and just let them do what they're doing.

The incense, the candles, the essential oils I usually reach for? This season isn't calling for them. And I'm honouring that too.

It's made me curious — what does comfort look like for you right now? Is it sound, scent, movement, stillness? Something you expected or something that surprised you?

And if you have a song that has carried you through something hard — I'd genuinely love to know. Drop it in the comments. Let's build a playlist together.
