What a beautiful day we had for the Shawville Terry Fox Run last Sunday!
Lots of familiar faces showed up — and some new ones too!
A BIG thank you to everyone who came out to run, walk, volunteer, cheer, donate, set up, clean up, hand out water, sell T-shirts, flip burgers and do all the little things that make a community event like this happen.
The new location and route were also a big success!

And together, we’ve raised $8,900!
It’s still not too late to make a donation:
Thanks for showing up, Pontiac. We did Terry proud.

Thank you The Equity's Community Hub and Sophie for the lovely article about Sundays run

People arrived on bikes, on motorized scooters, in strollers, and yes, some with just their own two feet. Some were there to run the full 10 kilometres, others simply to walk a lap, get some sun, or enjoy a burger with their neighbour – each in their own way supporting the cause.  But no matter

New to the Terry Fox Run? We made it easy to bring the whole crew. There's a colouring page for the kids, an easy 1–2 km route if the full distance isn't for you, and the route is stroller and wagon friendly the whole way. No experience necessary — just come as you are. Sunday, September 20 — Dr. S.E. McDowell School.

🏁 There's no finish line required to take part in the Shawville Terry Fox Run. Everyone is welcome at our community cancer fundraiser — no finish line required. Go the full 10 km if that's your thing. Go halfway. Walk it. Bike it. Or just make your way to the community BBQ to meet your friends — that's where we gather, that's where we connect, and that's where we make a difference, together. There's no wrong way to take part. Every step, every pedal, every cheer counts to keep Terry's dream alive. Sunday, September 20 — Dr. S.E. McDowell School, Shawville.

🍔 Rain or shine, burgers or hot dogs — the Shawville Lions Club has been firing up the grill for our Terry Fox Run for as long as most of us can remember, and 2026 is no different. [insert Lions Club BBQ photos] Whether you're running the full route or just stopping by to say hi, the BBQ is where we all end up together — and it wouldn't happen without this crew. Thank you, Shawville Lions Club, for keeping us fed and keeping this tradition alive year after year. ❤️ See you at the grill on Sunday, September 20 — Dr. S.E. McDowell School.
