Wellness Wednesday 🎃👻

Change can be scary… but sometimes so can staying where we are.

Whether we’re wrapped up in the past, worried about what might happen next or holding on to familiar routines, trying something different isn’t always easy.

Our brains often favour what’s familiar and predictable, even when our usual habits or routines aren’t working particularly well for us.

But growth doesn’t have to mean making a big, dramatic change overnight.

Sometimes it’s trying a different approach, having a conversation we’ve been putting off, setting a small boundary or simply being open to new possibilities.

And if we’re not quite ready? That’s okay, too. Change is a process, and everyone moves at their own pace.

A little reminder this Wellness Wednesday: we don’t have to have everything figured out to take a small step forward.

And if you’ve been using the same spell for years without results, maybe it’s time to try a different one. 🧙‍♀️😂

Invisible Disabilities Week | October 18–24, 2026 🤍

Just because we can’t see what someone is experiencing doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

Every day, we cross paths with people whose experiences we may know very little about. At school, at work, in our neighbourhoods and even within our own families, there’s often more happening beneath the surface than we realize.

Invisible disabilities can include chronic illnesses, chronic pain, learning disabilities, certain mental health conditions and disabilities experienced by some neurodivergent people. Everyone’s experience is different, and not everyone with these conditions or differences identifies as having a disability.

Someone may appear happy, confident or capable while navigating challenges that aren’t immediately noticeable to others.

This week is an opportunity to raise awareness, challenge assumptions and reflect on how we can make our communities more inclusive and understanding.

Sometimes that starts with the little things: listening without judgment, respecting individual needs, being open to accommodations and remembering that we don’t always know what someone else is experiencing.

We don’t need to fully understand someone’s experience to respect it.

Everyone deserves to feel included, valued and supported, whether their disability is visible or not. 🌿

Wellness Wednesday 🤍

A difficult moment doesn’t define who you are.

None of us has everything figured out. We’re all learning as we go, through experiences that shape who we become.

Something worth remembering is that two things can be true at once.

We can feel proud of how far we’ve come while recognizing there are still things we’re working through. We can wish we’d handled a situation differently while still offering ourselves compassion. We can accept where we are today while continuing to grow.

There’s room for both, and that’s okay.

We can reflect, take responsibility when needed, and move forward without allowing one difficult moment to define the whole of who we are.

A little compassion can go a long way, both for ourselves and for others. 🌿

Social skills are built in the little moments. 🤍

They help children communicate, build friendships, handle conflict, express their feelings, understand others and feel more confident in everyday situations.

Every child is different. Their experiences, environment and the support around them can all influence how they learn, connect and develop social skills.

Skills like taking turns, listening, managing emotions, showing empathy and respecting personal space are all things children learn and practice over time.

With patience, encouragement and support, these everyday moments can help children build skills they will carry with them at school, at home and in relationships as they grow.

October is ADHD Awareness Month 🧡

ADHD can look different from person to person, and it’s often about much more than being “hyper” or distracted.

It can look like struggling to get started, losing track of time, forgetting things, feeling overwhelmed by everyday tasks, or having a hard time transitioning from one task or activity to another.

For some people, it can also look like becoming completely absorbed in something interesting, feeling mentally busy, getting frustrated quickly, or feeling especially affected by criticism or rejection.

A lot of energy can go into simply trying to stay organized, keep up, and manage things that may look easy from the outside.

ADHD can show up in children, teens and adults, and understanding the many ways it can present can help us respond with more curiosity and support.

Awareness can help us move away from labels like “lazy,” “too sensitive,” or “not trying hard enough” and toward greater understanding, compassion and support.
