It’s Easter weekend, and even though families will be apart, I’m sure there will still be a lot of great food prepared and eaten! Today I prepared a nice healthy meal for my family and they devoured it. What is everyone else eating this weekend? Let me know in the comments below...and pictures are definitely a plus!

"Once upon a time, I used to be a scrawny 108lbs guy who struggled with being underweight, weak, and constantly tired. I couldn't even do simple chores without feeling like I had run a marathon. One day I decided enough was enough and that I'd try to get healthy. I started researching all about diets and how to eat better, but it was so complicated! And I'm sure many of you do to! Coffee has many benefits and positive health effects but there are still some common myths surrounding this beautiful elixir.
Let's break down a few myths:
❎ MYTH #1: Drinking coffee dehydrates you.
Coffee is considered a MILD diuretic. However, studies have shown it does not dehydrate your body. Think about it...it's made with water.
❎ MYTH #2: Coffee will help you sober up.
Although coffee is a stimulant and it can help a person be more alert, it does not affect blood alcohol levels.
❎ MYTH #3: Coffee causes cancer.
Nope. There is no scientific evidence that shows this.
And here's a list of just a few benefits:
✅ may help burn fat (can increase metabolism by 3-11%)
✅ it can give you an energy boost (although temporary)
✅ rich in polyphenols (packed with antioxidants)
✅ shown to decrease certain health risks
✅ may improve cognitive function
✅ protects your liver
Of course, everything in moderation is key. 😉

GYMS ARE CLOSED. I HAVE NO EXERCISE EQUIPMENT AT HOME. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO❗️❗️❗️
No equipment? No problem! 👍
🤯 Here are some suggestions for exercising without a gym or equipment:
✅ do exercises with no equipment at all...just body weight!
✅ use canned goods or packaged foods as weights
✅ fill bags/boxes/containers with things to make them as heavy as you need
✅ use rope to do pulling exercises or suspension training
✅ towels with slippery floors are great for creative exercises

FIGHTING COVID-19 WITH A HEALTHY IMMUNE SYSTEM
⚡ With all the news about the coronavirus pandemic, it’s easy to feel powerless over your health.
🍎 But there actually are some steps you can take to help your immune system be in top shape.
🏃♂️ Taking action goes a LONG way toward moving you from overwhelmed to empowered.
🥦 Here's a list of healthy immune-boosting actions you can take to get back that sense of control.
NOTE: Remember, it’s still imperative to follow prevention guidelines for hand washing, isolation and social distancing…even if you follow these steps‼️
➡️➡️ Get enough sleep. This can help improve your body’s natural immune function. Aim for 7-8 hours a night.
➡️➡️ Keep up with your fitness routine. Moderate to intense workouts lasting under an hour help boost your immune system both immediately and in the long run.
➡️➡️ Cut back on your stress with scheduled downtime and breathing exercises. Chronic stress appears to wear down your immune system, which can make you more vulnerable to illness.
➡️➡️ Eat a healthy & balanced diet that’s low in sugar. A balanced diet that contains veggies, fruits, and healthy fats is rich in antioxidants and micronutrients that support your immune system.
➡️➡️ Stay hydrated. Drinking enough water makes it easier for your cells to do their job – plus allows your body to more easily process food and eliminate waste. Shoot for at least 8 8-ounce (240 ml) glasses a day.
These are unprecedented times so please stay safe and healthy!

I love this beautiful quote ...given to us by a very wise Jedi Master. Yoda taught a simple lesson in commitment and how to give any task everything you've got.
Lift the x-wing out of the water...or don't.
Go to the gym...or don't go to the gym.
Drink a glass of water...or don't drink the water.
Go for a run...or don't.
Saying you're going to "try" to do any of these things implies that you may or may not get it done.
When you "try" to do something, you've already contemplated failure.
Let's make it a point to "DO" everyday!

🌲🌲🌲 Do you spend a lot of time outdoors? A new study shows that spending just 20 minutes in nature can cut your stress-levels, in a BIG WAY! 🧘
📚📊 This study, which was published in a medical journal called Frontiers in Psychology, looked at exactly how much time you need to be outside to get the biggest stress-relieving bump.
➡️ Scientists had people spend 10 minutes or longer outside in public parks or green areas near their work, for 3 days a week over the course of 8 weeks.
➡️ The study subjects could walk, sit, or otherwise “engage in nature” but they couldn’t read or be on their phones.
➡️ Before and after each of their nature breaks, researchers measured their levels of the stress hormone called cortisol.
THE RESULTS: people who spent just 20-30 minutes in nature showed the biggest drop in cortisol rates ‼️
AND THE TAKEAWAY: the next time you need to take a break or de-stress, try going outside for a little 1-1 time with nature. You’ll feel a lot better in just a little time. 🌳🌞😁

I was sent a message asking if it was ok to eat bananas. I LOVE bananas...just eat them in moderation, like anything else.
Here are a few banana points:
💚 Generally, the less ripe bananas are, the more fiber they have – and also the more “prebiotics,” they have (which help feed the good bacteria in your digestive system)!
💛 The riper your bananas get, the more SUGAR they contain (and the lower their vitamin and mineral content).
🍯 The ripest bananas are best used in cooking (or in smoothies)– they can also be a way to add sweetness instead of using sugar.
