When you receive treatment for pain, there is no way to accurately measure the percentage and duration of your pain relief.

Wilderman Medical Clinic has developed the Integral of Pain Relief (IPR) that measures both the percentage and duration of pain relief to better treat chronic pain patients. We are conducting an IPR study to collect data to validate this new measurement tool.

This study will focus on patients who suffer from osteoarthritis of the knee and we will be measuring the effectiveness of corticosteroid injections. This study will go a long way in improving pain relief interventions and treatment plans for any patients suffering from chronic pain.

If you or someone you know is suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee and is interested in our study, please contact us by phone: (905) 886-1212 ext: 206 or by email: [email protected]

Ontario Study Seeks Participants with Chronic Migraine

Have you been treated with or been offered Botox for your chronic migraines? If so, you’re invited to share your treatment experience with us, in a short 30-minute telephone interview.

We want to better understand patients’ experiences with treatment for chronic migraines so that we can help improve treatment procedures. This will also provide important information to future chronic migraine treatment research.

We want to know why patients choose particular treatments, what they find effective, and why.

If you are interested in sharing your experience or have any questions, please email: [email protected] or call: 905-886-1212 ext. 206

Smoking ci******es can be life-changing and so can type 2 diabetes.

SmokeFree reports that a 2014 Surgeon General’s Report uncovered that smoking is a cause of type 2 diabetes.
“Smokers have a greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes than do nonsmokers,” the study says. “The risk of developing diabetes increases with the number of ci******es smoked per day.”

The numbers don’t lie, smoking ci******es is deadly.

The Canadian Cancer Society reports that a study published by the Conference Board of Canada revealed that “smoking causes more than 45,000 deaths in Canada annually, which is nearly 1 in 5 of all deaths (18.4%) in the country.”

Did you know that smoking ci******es changes your blood pressure?⁣

The American Heart Association states that although a direct connection between smoking and high blood pressure is still being examined, this bad habit can impact you in more ways than one.⁣

“Both smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke increase the risk for the buildup of fatty substances (plaque) inside the arteries (atherosclerosis) — a process that high blood pressure is known to accelerate,” the Association explains. “Every time you smoke, it also causes a temporary increase in blood pressure.” ⁣

If you had the option to stop smoking ci******es, would you?

Quitting smoking can give you a whole new lease on life. Meg Selig, author of “Changepower! 37 Secrets to Habit Change Success” and ex-smoker, told Psychology Today that she wishes she was kinder to herself during her exit from the bad habit.

“Looking back, I’m sorry I was not able to be more compassionate with myself,” Selig said. “Research now tells us that ‘despising’ oneself only leads to more guilt—and giving in to one’s habit to feel better. Nevertheless I managed to muddle through, focusing on my motivators of ‘family’ and ‘breathing free.’ This time I did not relapse, even once.”

Be kind to yourself and give your health a second chance.

How would you classify your level of cigarette smoking?

Were you a social smoker that gradually found yourself smoking more and more each day?

According to Harvard Health, being a “light smoker” doesn’t save you from the risks that come with ci******es.

“Smoking one to four ci******es a day, for example, increases the risk of heart disease almost as much as smoking a pack a day,” the university writes in their Harvard Heart Letter. “Telling yourself, and your doctor, that you aren't a smoker doesn't negate these hazards, and it does keep you from getting help to quit smoking completely.”

If you’re considering quitting ci******es for good, consider joining our clinical trial.

The objective of the Canadian Centre for Clinical Trials Smoking Cessation study is to evaluate the efficacy of electronic cigarette use for smoking cessation.

We’re trying to determine if combining e-ci******es with smoking cessation counselling can help more smokers quit. (Compared to smoking cessation counselling alone.)

Smoking ci******es changes your body. This deadly habit also changes your blood. 💉🚬

In addition to affecting your lungs, brain and heart, Smokefree reports that ci******es make your blood sticky.

“The stickier the blood, the harder your heart must work to move it around your body,” writes the National Cancer Institute. “Sticky blood is also more likely to form blood clots that block blood flow to your heart, brain, and legs. Over time, thick, sticky blood damages the delicate lining of your blood vessels. This damage can increase your risk for a heart attack or stroke.”

If you’re thinking about quitting ci******es, consider joining our clinical trial to help others who are also trying to quit.
