Human beings are wired for safety.

As we go through life we are constantly learning what is safe and whats not safe.The mind learns these lessons and stores them in the body.

For example we all know its not safe to touch a hot stove and our body and minds have reflexes and automatic reactions to stop us from doing that.

This is also true for emotional lessons. Our body stores emotional memories and thus reacts to stress and difficult situations.

EFT is not about changing the situation, rather about transforming how we react to stress and situations.

Tapping on these points helps remind our system that it is safe.

Once the safety is established then we can promote new ways of thinking.

What is EFT tapping?

EFT tapping is like acupuncture for emotions, but without needles. It is a very effective way of naturally managing your bodys stress response. At its simplist, EFT is a stress relief technique. It involves tuning into our thoughts , feelings and memories whilst tapping with two fingers on accupressure points. Tapping on these points calms the amygdyla (the fear control center in our brain) and thus engages safety in the brain.

Above are a few slides I created to get you started. Each of these tapping points can be tapped on either side of the body with either hand or on both sides at the same time. Tap about 5 to 7 times on each point.

EFT is quite forgiving with the sequence and there is no right or wrong order as long as you get the points.

Even though I cannot control other peoples behaviour,
I can choose to control how I let it affect me.

The greatest "stuckness"(I know its not a word but go with me here) I have felt in my own life and observed in clients is when there is the element of control.
The power comes with compassionate acceptance and the realization that you can surrender without giving up.

In Elsas words, Let it Go.
Let it go with love and acceptance to what it is and instead change the things you can internally within your self.

When we can create good internal boundaries and life affirming beliefs we can change how we react to it and then very often the very thing we are trying to change, changes.

Creating this website was definitely a process I had to Nurture my self through.
I began with looking for and relying on sources outside myself which were all extremely helpful but I couldn't understand why it wasn't working out.

I was waiting for a Fairy God Mother to come and wave a magic wand🪄 and have it all work out for me, all the while not realizing that the wand was within me, I just had to find it.

It wasn't untill I took full responsibilty for it, that it started flowing.

I will leave you with some of my Key Take aways from this Journey.

💫Own it ...All of it..
💫Be patient and compassionate with your self.
💫Trust that everything will happen at the right time for you, beacause it always does.
💫Perfection is a beautifully devised strategy usually to protect your self from the unknown.
💫Procrastination too.
💫Sleep, rest and work life balance is all a part of productivity.
💫💫Acceptance which means having awareness to where your at in your journey every step of the way is the key to possibilities opening up.
💫💫When you keep working on your self no matter, what all else falls into place.🪄🪄🪄.

This download came to me on garbage day as I was clearing out the trash for the week.
I had been feeling stuck on many aspects in my life. I wanted so many things but nothing was budging. I was in a slump. And the stuff kept piling on. Then began the cycle of shame and guilt which kept me further stuck.
So when this came to me I was reminded to use my tools to make space and declutter.
I journalled, tapped and focused on my breath and also binged for a few days on netflix till I had room inside my self for creating all the things I wanted and then literally after I had made enough space.. boom 💥 ...things started happening. Avenues and possibilities started showing up. The ball began rolling. Truly exciting things are beggining to show up for me, some of which I will be sharing soon.

Compassion is my faviourite tool to use with clients. I love how it softens the pain and opens up new perspectives.
Compassion for my self though is not always as simple.

Sometimes it’s hard to accept who we are. We struggle with feeling comfortable in our own skin. We’re hard on ourselves and can’t help but see all the flaws. What’s needed is compassion — not only for others, but ourselves.

Noticing curiously and without judgement (the hardest part), my emotions thoughts behaviours and beliefs rather than living from my conditioning in life (my shoulds and should-nots), enables me to choose consciously how I want to move forward.

The Choice ..To live and be in a way that limits me or to live and be in a way that empowers me to be free and limitless.

It's possible to Stand Tall and Proud for who you are and who you are becoming.

On the surface this looks like any other picture I posed for and got it as good as I could without a professional photographer and without being a super model. And IT IS..
on many levels like the other thousands of pics I have accumulated over the years.

But this one to me feels different. Two days ago, the day this picture was taken I realized that
I AM...after decades... finally feeling Good...About Myself and Within myself. There has been a change slowly creeping up in me.

I have been on this path of searching for healing and growth and looking for emotional freedom for the longest time. Most of the time its been quite a struggle and seemed impossible for me. But as I said it seems to be creeping up...
the Self Compasion, the Self Love, the Joy and Gratefulness of being Me.

By choosing to live more consciously I am beginning to see and feel these changes in my life and within me.

So for me this picture is a reminder to my self that no matter how hard it seems, Its POSSIBLE!

My friends!
It's Possible to heal. Its Possible to feel good about your self.It's possible to grow into a version of your self that you are proud of and admire and truly grateful for.
It's possible to stand tall and proud for who you are and who you are becoming.

Even though most of our conditioning says otherwise we can Choose to Allow our selves time and space to grow.

A perfect example from my own experience .I was putting so much pressure on my self to post "perfectly" on Instagram , I had totally stopped doing it. I first had a lot of shame and guilt around it till I realized that I had to hold space for my self around this block.

Note to self .
Accept and acknowledge your humanness and then from that place you can have more space to breathe and creativity can flow.

Ways to hold space for your self.

Accept what is ,
Allow your self to feel
Practice loving kindness to your self just like you would a friend or loved one, Ground, Breathe,
Tap, Meditate, Excercise.

You are Worth it.

When life gets tough, when we are being challenged by tough circumstances, either our own or the ones near and dear to us we naturally tend to get overwhelmed and anxious.

I am learning this time and again, after going through the initial overwhelm and anxiety, letting it take overall aspects of my day. Letting my emotions overrule my sense of presence in the here and now.

To accept all our emotions, to be with them but not in them.

I practice and specialize in Conscious EFT which is a trauma safe mind body approach which allows us to let Our Selves acknowledge the emotions and greet them with love and acceptance and in doing so bring a greater understanding to the message these emotions are bringing and allowing us to support our systems healing and growth.

This weekend, I went for a nature walk
to Quiet my Mind, to "Empty my Cup" which was so full of things there wasn't room for anything else and I was getting overwhelmed and burnt out.

At first I found it very hard to empty. Exhausted, I saw a huge rock and sat down. Shifted the attention to the tightness in my legs and tried to let the thoughts just float away.

All of a sudden, I started hearing all the sounds of nature. The birds Chirping, the leaves Rustling, the wind Howling. And I had this curious thought.

Nature is Loud ! So Loud ! It doesnt hold anything in..
Then, Why do We?

Theres nothing Natural about holding things in.

Let it flow out and empty your cup so you can fill it with what You want and Need.

Il leave you with some lyrics from a soundtrack I recently heard and love.

Take my Voice and Make it Louder,
Make it wilder and set it free....
Take my words and make them Wiser and give me something to Believe....
AND if All I can do is SING, I'm going to SING LOUDER...LET IT OUT.
