When is it time to go to the hospital? πŸ₯🀍

Remember the 5-1-1 rule:
5️⃣ contractions every 5 minutes
1️⃣ each one lasting 1 minute
1️⃣ for 1 full hour

That's when it's time to head in.

But don't wait for 5-1-1 if your water breaks and see you colour, you're bleeding, or baby is moving less than usual β€” go in right away and get checked.

Save this for your birth prep πŸ“Œ and share it with a mama-to-be.

You got this, Mama 🀍

Labour isn't just physical β€” it's mental.

Fear creates tension, and tension creates pain.

But the reverse is also true: when you breathe, surrender, and trust your body, you work *with* your labour instead of against it.

Your body was made for this. Your mind just has to believe it.

Save this for your birth prep, share with a preggo, and follow for more πŸ“Œ

Birth control, explained simply 🀍

There are more options than most of us were ever taught. It's a subject Tamil Amma's are uncomfortable discussing with their daughters. Here's the simple breakdown:

HORMONAL β€” the pill, patch, vaginal ring, hormonal IUD, implant, injection. They work mainly by preventing ovulation.

BARRIER β€” external and internal condoms, diaphragm, cervical cap, sponge. Used each time β€” and condoms also protect against sexually transmitted infections.

PERMANENT β€” tubal ligation ("tubes tied") and vasectomy. Meant to be forever, so only when you're sure your family is complete.

Please note, breastfeeding only prevents pregnancy under very strict circumstances. Many new moms are surprised to find themselves pregnant again, do inform yourself πŸ™‚.

Not sure which fits? Let's talk β€” the right choice depends on your health, your plans, and your life.

Save this for later πŸ“Œ and share with someone who needs it.

A gentle reminder 🀍

Pregnancy and postpartum are the most vulnerable times in a woman's life β€” and she'll never forget how she was treated during those times.

So to the partners, the family, the friends:
Take care of her.

Happy World Breastfeeding Week 🀍

To the 3am feeds, the cluster-feeding marathons, the leaking through your shirt in the grocery store β€” we see you, amma.

Breastfeeding is beautiful, and it's also hard. However you feed your baby β€” breast, bottle, or both β€” you're doing beautifully. Fed with love is what matters.

Tell me below β€” what got you through the hardest feeding days? πŸ‘‡

Ear piercing day doesn't have to mean tears. 🀍

EMLA is a numbing cream that dulls the earlobe before the piercing β€” applied ahead of the piercing to take the edge off the pain. It's over the counter.

Some parents say their baby barely noticed. But every baby is different β€” so check with your pediatrician first, especially for little ones under 3 months, and never use it on broken or irritated skin.

Share this with a new mom, save this for piercing day, and tell me below β€” at what age did you pierce your baby's ears? πŸ‘‡

New moms don't need advice.

Sometimes they need someone to simply ask:
β€œHow are YOU doing?” 🀍

Instead of telling her to β€œsleep when the baby sleeps,” try showing up so she actually can.
Instead of asking whether the baby is β€œgood,” check in on the mama who is learning, healing, adjusting and giving so much of herself.

✨ Bring the food.
✨ Hold the baby.
✨ Let her shower.
✨ Let her nap.
✨ Listen without fixing.

Support doesn't always need the perfect words.
Sometimes it looks like showing up. 🀍
