If you’re navigating PANS/PANDAS, you know there is rarely just ONE piece of the puzzle. ❤️
For me, supporting my son has meant looking at the body as a whole and focusing on the systems that need support.
Here are 5 areas I focus on to clear toxic mold.
1️⃣ Support the body’s detox pathways first
Before adding a bunch of detox tools, I believe in making sure the body has the support it needs to eliminate what it is trying to get rid of.
Think hydration, regular bowel movements, healthy nutrition, movement and supporting the liver, kidneys and lymphatic system.
2️⃣ Support histamine + mast cell balance
Histamine and mast cells can be an important piece of the puzzle for some families.
I focus on identifying potential triggers, supporting the gut and choosing foods and lifestyle habits that work well for the individual.
3️⃣ Heal and nourish the gut
This is a BIG one for us.
The gut and brain are constantly communicating, which is why gut health has become such an important part of our journey.
I focus on nutrient-dense foods, plenty of protein, colourful fruits and vegetables, healthy fats and foods that are well tolerated.
I also incorporated Acemannan into our routine because of the incredible difference I personally saw in my son’s gut health.
For us, supporting the gut has been foundational.
4️⃣ Address mold + environmental burden
If you suspect mold exposure, looking at the environment matters.
I focus on reducing exposure while supporting the body’s natural detoxification processes. Some families also explore herbs and binders as part of their approach.
5️⃣ Look at biofilms
Biofilms are protective communities that microorganisms can form, and they can be another area families choose to learn about when exploring chronic infections and gut health.
This is an area I continue to research and learn about because I believe understanding the WHY behind what we’re doing is just as important as the protocol itself.
PANS/PANDAS can feel overwhelming.
You don’t have to understand everything at once.
Comment MOLD and I’ll share my mold protocol with you.
