The only thing that matters is how much you keep off.
Losing weight is not the issue. You’ve see people drop 20, 30 or more lbs off their bodies.
But no one talks about the weight they put back on as a result of doing unsustainable sh*t to lose the weight.
The trick around this is to give yourself a long enough runway to not only lose the weight but to adopt the habits necessary to keep it off.
Losing weight is about tactics.
Keep it off is about behaviour.
Focus on the tactics in the first part of your journey and focus on behaviours on the final part to keep the weight off.

The keto diet sucks. Here’s why…
1) It’s no more effective than doing a calorie deficit.

I used to think that every carb that entered my body would be processed as fat.

Having a big belly isn’t just bad for your body, it’s bad for your brain.
When you have high blood pressure & increased inflammation it messes up your brains communication system.
This starts a vicious cycle:
When you get less blood flow to the areas of the brain for mood control & decision making it causes you to make worse decisions with exercise and diet.
How do we battle this?
Start with getting into a habit of daily exercise.
Eat a diet comprised of nutrient dense foods.
Follow your circadian rhythms.
Sleep for 8 hours a day.
Drink water and zero calorie drinks.
Do this for 12 weeks straight and see your brain and body improve exponentially.

One of the things I see people do nowadays is reward every little win in life with food.
This may be because as a child you we’re rewarded with good behaviour with a little treat. Or it could be something you learned as an adult.
Either way we have to remember that we are not a dogs. We don’t have to treat yourself every time you do something good.
There are more positive ways to reward yourself that contribute to your health and well-being.
Maybe it’s a walk in your favourite beach. Or a workout. Or doing that experience you’ve been holding back on.
We need to tie our reward centres to new pathways that don’t involve foods. In that way we’re being healthy while enjoying the fruits of our labour.

Fasting has been the rage for the past few years but the model is broken for most people.
More specifically, it’s broken for people how live high stress lives.
Here’s why…
Not eating is a stress in and of itself. When you add fasting during the day to your day you end up adding to the levels of stress & anxiety you feel.
So what should you do?
We employ a version of fasting for our high stress clients called Circadian Fasting.
It’s a way of eating that works naturally with your circadian rhythms.
How do you do it? Very simple…
You have your final meal at least 4-5 hours before you go to sleep.
You have a meal within one hour of waking.
And you have a meal in-between those two meals.
This works better with your circadian biology than eating skipping breakfast especially if you live a high stress lifestyle.
It’s not that fasting is “bad” but for most people it just does not work.
If that’s you then employ this way of eating and see if it correlates with less stress, anxiety and more appetite control.
