Breakfast smoothie anyone?

“How to make a balanced smoothie”: Smoothies are a great way to pack a variety of nutritious foods into a single drink. The ultimate smoothie recipe should include a source of fruit, veggies, healthy fats, fibre, and protein. Including all these things will keep you full longer, make it more satisfying, keep your blood sugars balanced, and taste amazing!

Green smoothie recipe:
½ cup frozen mango
1 cup fresh spinach
1 nub of fresh ginger
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (could substitute for Greek yogurt)
1 tablespoon h**p hearts
1 cup milk

“How to add more fibre to your diet”:

Fibre is found in vegetables and fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. Fibre can help to lower your cholesterol, control your blood glucose, and keep you regular.

Easy ways to add more fibre without overdoing it:
-add berries to your morning oatmeal
-swap refined grains like white rice with whole grains like brown rice, wild rice, or bulgur
-add beans or legumes to your dishes, such as lentils to ground beef
-sprinkle h**p seeds, chia seeds, or flax seeds onto your meals
-snack on veggies and hummus for a snack
