Your body NEEDS cholesterol to make important steroid hormones like estrogen and progesterone as well as vitamin D.⁠

In your 40s you may find that your levels begin to rise and continue well into your 50s and beyond.⁠

This is very common but not necessarily normal. If it was, 100% of women would experience this, but clearly, they don't.⁠

Research has found that cholesterol rises as inflammation rises in the body PMID: 29757226. ⁠

It also rises in conjunction with fluctuating hormones during and after menopausal years (preventive cardiology https://doi.org/10.1093/eurjpc/zwac060)⁠

This is to trigger more hormone production, as your hormones begin to fluctuate in perimenopause and dip post-menopause.⁠

So although your body is trying to help you, you do not want your cholesterol levels to remain high.⁠

You want them to reduce not by addressing the cholesterol but the ROOT issues that are triggering the rise in cholesterol.⁠

You do this by focusing on balancing minerals, addressing nutrient deficiencies, reducing stress, reducing inflammation, and moving your body. ⁠

Most of us who want to become healthier or lose weight focus on changing the food that we eat.

Maybe you start to follow a particular diet or cut out certain inflammatory foods.

But what you likely find is that over time these changes just don't work.

Your health or weight plateau and you continue to struggle.

What's missing is that you are trying to resolve a deep-level issue with a surface-level solution. It's like taking Tylenol to 'cure' your flu.

This is precisely why I developed my Transformational Health Method.

Because in order to feel healthy and lose weight naturally, we need to correct the root issues.

Your health & weight loss transformation begins with shifting your mindset around food, your body and your lifestyle and rewiring habits that are interfering with your goals.

When you address these two you begin to make healthy choices naturally and consistently without feeling deprived or tapping into your willpower.

If you only address these two and don’t correct nutritional and hormonal imbalances, you will continue to struggle.

When you rewire bad habits and work on correcting nutritional & hormonal imbalances you begin to feel light and energetic and begin to feel comfortable inside and out.

If we address both of these but overlook shifting our mindset, it becomes difficult to shed weight without tapping into a lot of willpower.

If you’re experiencing any of the problems I just mentioned I guarantee you are missing one of those pillars.

When you have all of the three pillars combined, you get this beautiful effect.

You will lose weight and keep it off but without hyper-focusing on it.

You begin to feel energetic and confident and will not have to give up everything you enjoy.

But you have to have these three pillars working together.

Otherwise, it doesn’t work, which is probably why you feel frustrated.

As you approach your 40's you may find that your body begins to feel 'just not right'.

You may feel like you just can't keep up with the pace that you were once used to. Feeling exhausted all the time.

You may begin to experience erratic or heavy cycles.

And you watch your body change as you pack on the lbs in your midsection & thighs.

This likely causes you to go to your Dr and are told it’s just your age.

That you should probably start watching your diet and move more.

Or maybe you can go on the pill to regulate your hormones.

Maybe that will help.

But if it was just your age, then everyone at your age would gain weight and feel the way you do.

But that’s not the case! And the advice that you were given would actually work! But it doesn’t.

Because you are in a different phase of your life and your hormones are fluctuating.

And eating less and exercising more will actually cause things to get worse.

SO what do you do?

You work on rebalancing the hormones and giving your body particular nutrients it desperately needs.

You work on identifying the pesky habits that are causing you to choose the wrong foods for YOUR body!

Trying to control WHAT you eat WITHOUT identifying your eating patterns is the worst way to try to make improvements to your diet and health.⁠

Look I understand why you may think I'm out to lunch. ⁠

We've been told for a really long time that we have to just eat healthily and make good choices and everything will fall into place.⁠

But if you're anything like me or my clients or the millions of 'dieters' out there, you've tried to make nutritional changes, only to revert back to your old patterns. ⁠

After all, 95% of dieters revert back to their old diet and poor eating habits.⁠

So if just eating healthy doesn't work, what does?⁠

The first step is always awareness. ⁠

If you can become aware of your eating patterns, then you can ultimately change them. ⁠

If any of the above symptoms ring true for you then I guarantee you're doing one or more of the following:

🌟 You're an overachiever. You put your best self forward for your work and family, lacking energy and time for taking care of yourself! Making meal prep and exercise out of the question.

🌟You skip breakfast and start your day with a coffee and maybe a salad for lunch.

🌟You give in to your afternoon cravings and snack your way through the afternoon and into the evening.

🌟You try to make healthy choices during the day but completely lose control over the weekend and in the evening when your willpower wanes.

🌟You categorize food as "good" and "bad". Specifically trying to cut carbs until you can no longer resist.

🌟 You're aware of macro's to include in your diet (i.e., protein & low carb veggies) but have no idea if you're consuming enough vitamins and minerals

Trying to use your willpower is the worst way to try and lose weight.��

Look, I understand why you may think you need MORE willpower to lose weight.

If you listen to the weight loss gurus out there then you’ve likely grown to believe that you need to resist certain foods, “eat clean” and do endless cardio to lose weight.

And guess what?

Doing these things does require willpower.

��But it also likely leads to the patterns you see in your life that make you believe you lack willpower - which is not the case.

If you follow the advice of the gurus you likely start your days trying to ‘eat clean’.

You may have a low-carb breakfast or maybe you skip it because you’re trying to intermittent fast.

You may then grab a flimsy salad for lunch and by the afternoon let’s say 2-3 o’clock is where you find your cravings kick in.��

And of course, you’re so hungry that you likely cave, and because you did, you throw in the towel and eat your way through the rest of the day and vow to start fresh tomorrow.

If this sounds familiar you’re not alone.

And guess what?

You don’t lack willpower because if you did, you never would have been able to ‘eat clean’ for a portion of your day.

��The problem here isn’t missing willpower, it’s missing nutrients coupled with poor habits programmed into your subconscious.��

If you think your PMS and fatigue have nothing to do with your stubborn weight, think again.

�I get it. No one talks about these things.

Your fatigue and PMS are completely ignored and weight-loss gurus continue to tell you to push past them and do all the things you need to do to lose the weight.��

But if that were true doing all the things - like intermittent fasting, cutting out carbs, and exercising would actually help you lose weight.

But for many of us, they don’t.��

That’s because our stubborn weight stems from the issues that are leading us to experience fatigue and PMS.

��And what are those issues?

Well, a lot of it has to do with stress placed on your body by being so busy and doing all the things and depriving yourself of key nutrients.

You see minerals run the body.

They help produce enzymes and enzymes, in turn, produce hormones.

When you are missing key minerals and nutrients in your diet, you will experience stubborn weight, fatigue, and PMS.

The solution isn’t to work harder but to replenish your body so you can have enough energy to move intuitively, prepare balanced meals and make choices that are healthy for your body.

Do you experience regular bloating, migraines, acne or eczema, restless sleep, fatigue, or even IBS-type symptoms?⁠

Well, the issue may be related to histamine intolerance.⁠

All of us secrete histamines. It's a natural process.⁠

But what's not natural is our body's inability to clear histamines. ⁠

That's when we develop symptoms that are uncomfortable and sometimes unbearable.⁠

When our bodies secrete histamines, an enzyme DAO is activated, which should break down and clear the histamine.⁠

When you experience histamine reactions, it's an indication that your body lacks the DAO enzyme.⁠

And guess what?⁠

It's also likely lacking in copper - which runs the DAO enzyme.⁠

Getting the body back into balance and ensuring sufficient amounts of this enzyme is important for your health.⁠

But often, before the body can heal, it must be supported.⁠

And that's when supplements such as DAO enzyme, desiccated kidney, or natural anti-histamines come in.⁠

This is such a common issue, especially for women in their 40's (and beyond!)⁠

Are you experiencing PMS, heavy or erratic periods, anxiety, or irritability?

If so, then it could be hormonal imbalances - related to mineral imbalances!

Most practitioners feel that hormones run the body.

When in fact, hormones are secondary to minerals.

Hormones run on enzymes, and enzymes run on minerals.

When minerals are missing or are insufficient in the body, then hormones are missing or become imbalanced.

The key to addressing hormonal imbalances is to address mineral imbalances.

Most of my clients who clients are experiencing hormonal imbalances, whether adrenal, thyroid, or reproductive, are deficient in potassium, magnesium, and retinol (a fat-soluble vitamin).

If you have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism or have some of the symptoms described below, you need to do things differently!

Hypothyroid symptoms can include:
Low body temperature
Cold hands and feet
Constipation
Fatigue
Weight gain
Low libido
brittle, dry thinning hair and skin

Most women begin to eat less and exercise more.
But this further stresses the body and deprives it of the critical nutrients it desperately needs!

And so metabolism continues to decline.

Symptoms get worse, and for the most part, medication does not help.

It may help at first, and labs improve, but unfortunately, many of the above symptoms are not addressed with medication alone.

What we have to do is the stark opposite of what comes naturally.

We need to eat more!
Specifically more animal fat - think, butter, eggs, cream, tallow, cod liver oil

And more warming and easily digested carbs like sweet potatoes, potatoes, carrots, and squash.

It feels almost sinful when women hear this advice because we've been brainwashed to eat less and exercise more, and we NEED to be skinny - above everything else.

Not so, ladies!

It's time for something better.

You need to nourish your body and feel good! And everything else falls into place over time.

Progesterone is your pro-gestational hormone as it supports ovulation and conception.

However, you will want to improve your progesterone levels even if you do not wish to conceive.

Why?

Well, because progesterone is known to be your crucial hormone, that's:
➡️calming
➡️mood enhancing
➡️sleep supportive
➡️libido enhancing and
➡️bone-enhancing

And one of the critical nutrients that support healthy progesterone levels is now other than MAGNESIUM!

To ensure you have sufficient magnesium in your diet, eat plenty of the foods I mentioned in my post.

But if you experience any issues in your cycle (short, heavy cycles) or have concerns about your mood, energy, sleep, or bone health, then you will likely have to supplement.
