2021's newsletters are starting off with good news - Care Can Continue during this newest lockdown phase!
Plus I give you a little insight into how I'm working to kick 2021 of in the right way.
Good News!! Care Can Continue! (+ '21's Starting Where '20 Left Off) - https://mailchi.mp/e72338f5f6b3/good-news-care-can-continue-21s-starting-where-20-left-off
Staying positive as Covid isolation stretches on can get challenging... so I welcomed to opportunities to celebrate.
One was to join my world-wide colleagues in recognizing World Spine Day (complete with some recommendations) and the other was to absorb some useful mindset refocusing at an online conference.
I shared both with you in this month's newsletter!
My Choice in radical living is Radical Kindness. Find out what I learned while reading the book. And check-out some tips for healthy working-from-home.
Happy summer everyone!
Summer Living in Pandemic Times - https://mailchi.mp/25c23aefdc2c/summer-living-in-pandemic-times
In this month's newsletter I get to talk about getting stuck (scary!) and moving forward (returning to regular chiropractic/wellness care can be scary in these 'new normal' times too).
Let me tell you how I'm putting my and patients' minds at ease with old habits and new protocols.
Keep Moving Forwardšš - And Back to Work šš - https://mailchi.mp/37d6613fdb29/keep-moving-forward-and-back-to-work
It's hard to quickly adapt to a 'new normal'. I'm figuring it out day-by-day and sharing some thoughts in this month's newsletter of what I've learned along the way.
Happy March 75th - Staying (Positively) Home - https://mailchi.mp/35fae57b4d4d/happy-march-75th-staying-positively-home
I've found over this period of 'Distancing' that it's been hard not to binge - out of boredom if nothing else. With unwanted excess time on my hands, and encouragement to restrictĀ outside distractions as much as possible,Ā it's hard to resist over-indulging. You'dĀ be justified in thinking that the...
Proud to know this man. Love his explanations.
I know youāre all sick of seeing pet posts on Facebook right now but:
1) heās brand new!!!! (and oh so cute!) Yesterday was his 9 wk birthday and today marks 1 wk with us
2) he represents a lesson - even when times get challenging we should all be looking for a Triple Win:
a win for ourselves (heās brought joy and levity into my ādistancingā home)
a win for the other (canāt think of a kitten whoās being more spoiled than this guy right now)
a win for community (one less mouth to feed at the situationally stressed rescue he came from)
As the reality of being a Chiropractor in this time of social-isolation set in (I've discontinued in-person visits for now), I took some time to put the thoughts I've been sharing with my own family (that now more than ever we need to move into planned wellness self-care, that mindset matters A LOT, that we need to listen care-fully, and that I still have healthy trust) into a blog post to share with all of you.
Hope it helps!

Reach out if you need me!
Let me start with the abundantly obvious ā I am not an infectious disease expert. No pretenses here ā I am NOT an infectious disease expert (although it feels like the mediaās trying to encourage us all to quickly become one). I am not an infectious disease expert! What I am, is someone whoā...
Yes, with Coronavirus incidences rising in our community, it's important to avoid germs via proper hand washing and hygiene protocols.
But it's also important to remember that we can't be good hosts for those viruses either. Make them unwelcome by keeping your energy up (and positive), staying well nourished, well rested and well supported.
If the support you need is Wellness care without the Waiting Room, I invite you to contact me. about my Mostly Mobile Chiropractic practice. I bring clinic-quality care to your home or workplace.
One body with 3 brains - the head brain, the heart brain, and the gut brain - that all function independently + work together to keep us feeling and functioning well. The body is an amazing and complicated thing!
I am soooo ready to spring forward tomorrow night!
Lost: 1 hour of sleep
Gained: spring on the doorstep, daylight when I wake, fresh starts waiting to bloom
Bring it on!!
Just back from a ārechargeā. It worked! Look out world, here I come!!
What little or big things do you do to pour into your energy/inspiration cup?
There are many ways to disrupt the nervous system. They fall under 3 categories: Trauma (major like a car accident or minor and repetitive like bad posture), Toxins (from what we eat, drink and breath), and Thought (yes - sustained stress, worry or negativity affect the brain-body connection)
Age is just a number. Mindset is what matters.
Whether you're making lemons into lemonade or snow into snowballs find the joy in what life gives you.

On the eve of the first long weekend of a new decade, when we celebrate romantic love and the love in our families, I opened my heart to share that I'm verging on 'just not that into it', how I intend to shift my energy/enthusiasm, and many things heart and love-language related.
Let me know if you can relate? Are you 'all in' to the spirit of this season? What are your holiday plans??
Can you feel the love tonigh... errr... this weekend? - https://mailchi.mp/cf18201902ad/can-you-feel-the-love-tonigh-errr-this-weekend
While we're talking about old songs (is anyone but me humming a '90's Elton John classic?), I might as well double-down and confess that I feel 'unnnder pressssure' to feel and act a certain way this weekend. This weekend, proclamationsĀ of romantic love are meant toĀ proceed declarations of family-...
I spent some of this week learning about "Generation C" - and I have to say... I'm a bit scared for the impact this tech-using posture is having on developing spines, eyes, brains...
Are you seeing kids that look like this in your world too?
Find something to make you smile on a snowy day. Thanks for my cute new sunglasses cover! (dreaming of the day when I get to take them out and use them).
Check out this month's Newsletter. It's all about time well spent!
Self-Care in Busy Times - https://mailchi.mp/4383c9d1e27d/self-care-in-busy-times
This month's Newsletter was all about the way being Thank-Full affects how we feel and how we heal. It's a highlight of this time of year but is a good-for-you fall-back (see what I did there? A little autumn mom-joke...) to use the whole year through.
Thank-full... a great way to keep your Tank Full - https://mailchi.mp/49c32e82bd17/thank-full-a-great-way-to-keep-your-tank-full
Besides pumpkin spice, this time of year is about finding the good and expressing thanks for it - so we all indulge (yay!). But when it's over, many of usĀ turn back to the negative-news and the upcoming holiday frenetic stressĀ - and we all indulge (boo!) These 'diets' energetically feed and fillĀ ...
Ice or heat?
If the injury has just happened, I'm usually going to recommend you ICE IT (sorry to those who hate cold).
A fresh injury will likely swell as the body rushes to try to protect it and accumulate building-blocks of repair close to the injury site. Cold will cause blood vessels to constrict, limiting the swelling, while heat (while it might feel good initially) will cause dilation of those same vessels, therefore increasing swelling and making you more uncomfortable in the long run.
I can't believe it! The CNE opens tomorrow šš. It's been years since I've been in school but this day will always make me anxious that summer's over... but I love the fair!
Will you be going? What's your favourite must-do CNE activity (THE FOOD BUILDING!!)? Are you just a bit sad that EX time is here?
Up to 85% of students report backpack related discomfort sometime in their school career.
As backpack buying season is upon us, use the tips below to help protect your child from unnecessary pain.
1. In the most recent edition of the International Classification of Diseases, the WHO now recognizes BURNOUT as a legitimate medical diagnosis.
2. A new US state law now allows students to take MENTAL HEALTH DAYS, starting a trend that's sure to show up in our schools soon.
Why do you think stress is getting so out of hand? Why is it making us feel sick?
"Anyone who takes the time to be kind is beautiful"
I found this quote on the page Enlightened Consciousness and it reminded me how many BEAUTIFUL people I am blessed to know.
We know that maintaining proper pH in a swimming pool is essential to keeping it comfortable and 'healthy'.
Maintaining proper pH in your body is even more important because it keeps you comfortable, healthy... and ALIVE.
Eat lots of fruits and veggies (alkaline foods) and limit meat, grains, and nuts (acidic foods) to keep feeling and functioning well.
It's a sign! It's going to be a good day!!
The Starbucks barista spelled my name correctly on my morning coffee. That never happens! Clearly the Universe is in alignment for me to have a great day today...ššš
What silly signs do you accept to show things are going to go your way?
"For every inch of forward head posture, it can increase the weight of the head on the spine by an additional 10 pounds"
That's not the kind of weight lifting I want to add to my routine as I spend the day working on my laptop.
Be aware of your posture as you work to keep you feeling and functioning well. Any questions about how? Let's discuss...
Is it helpful/hurtful to crack your own knuckles or back?
Nope (but it can become an annoying habit).
If you're not doing it 'compulsively' frequently, there's neither harm nor benefit to self-cracking a joint. The noise is just gas being released from the quick movement of the joint and won't cause arthritis as some fear. But (for back cracking) you're most likely moving an easy-to-move joint adjacent to the 'stuck' one, thus not relieving the problem joint itself.
This morning was so busy that I forgot to take a picture of this chair piled high with camp supplies.
For 2 weeks my little nest will be empty as the kids explore Canada's magnificent wilderness.
I'm feeling so many things - excited, sad, anxious, disoriented...by the time I process all this they'll surely be back!
Can anyone relate??
Notice what's missing from this definition of Chiropractic... the mention of disease. Focus on what you want - heath, vitality and more living in your life!!
Do you agree that B.J., The Developer of Chiropractic, had it right?
We all know of the inherent costs attributed to absenteeism due to physical pain or stress. But what about the new phenomenon of Presenteeism - showing up more than you should, or when you really need time to rebuild wellness? Is this a 'cost' we need to be considering? Are you guilty of being present when you shouldn't?

Today I decided to tell you an old chiropractic story. The Safety Pin Story explains how the closed feedback loop between your brain and your body via the nerves is a very efficient way for the mind-body connection to operate. And how when the safety pin pops open we canāt feel or function optimally. But never fear - your friendly neighborhood (mobile) chiropractor knows how to pin it all back in place š.
Sitting is the new Smoking. Research shows that a sedentary lifestyle can be linked to many of the health risks we once attributed to smoking. Iāve got some suggestions for how to add activity into your day to combat the sitting epidemic.
Video #2 celebrating Posture Month. This oneās about avoiding/relieving computer-use induced wrist pain (the second most common complaint of office and desk workers). Keep the questions coming and Iāll keep sharing some tried-and-true tips!
A simple switch from wrists to elbows can help you feel and function better and avoid the dreaded ātech neckā. Let me know if you change your habit.
Do You Have a Well-Rounded Cube? (another short video) In this hectic holiday season (and always) I encourage you to check in on whether your cube is falling out of shape. I found an old toy that helped me put it in perspective (and brought up a lot of puzzling frustrations).
Did You Miss Ergonomic Education Month? I almost did! Ergonomics used to be focused on furniture first. No more! I couldn't pass up the chance to (a bit belatedly) celebrate Ergonomic Education Month. Watch this 2 minute video for a useful tip.
Your Brain Works Like Your Smartphone - I took 1.5 min to explain how B.E.S.T. updates the efficiency of your brain just like swiping away un-needed open apps improves the efficiency of your smartphone. Sometimes the 'external brain' mirrors the workings of the 'internal brain'...
