Thanks to a generous donation from Mansa Beycando KanKan Musa of Tekadis Natural Products we can now add another five (5) spots to our weekly customized, tasty and nutritious Free Vegan Meals on Wheels service to chronically sick or disabled seniors in our community.

This is a totally free service provided by Black Vegans of Toronto and Lady Hummingbird Culinary Arts and it is our way of giving back and continuing to encourage and support healthy eating in our community.

If you know someone who needs this service please let us know. We are also looking for volunteers to deliver meals so that we can expand this charitable service.

Plant-based Meals-on-Wheels
Customized Meals for Chronic Diseases

In 2016 I wrote and published a book titled: Let Food Be Your Medicine Today-Live Healthy and Strong on Plant-Based Whole Foods. This book is based on over 40 years of plant-based living and four years of intensive research into the health-giving benefits of a plant-based lifestyle.

One major focus of this book is the strong evidence that what you eat can significantly help manage and in some cases reverse many diseases!
I put some of this evidence to the test in my role as caregiver for my brother, Muhtadi, who has Parkinson's disease. Over the last three years we worked together to change his lifestyle to mainly plant-based.

I am happy to report (with his permission) that his most recent medical review (November 2019) reveals that there has been no notable progression of his disease for the past year. Even his doctors agree that his change of lifestyle and some daily exercise is the most logical explanation for this heartwarming report!

In the next few weeks, my partner, Chef Amina Alfred, and I will be launching a special Food as Medicine Meals on Wheels Service.

Based on ongoing practice and research, we will be providing customized plant-based meals for people suffering from major diseases like Alzheimer's, Arthritis, Cancer, Diabetes, Dementia, Endometriosis, Heart Disease, High Blood Pressure, Lupus, Obesity, Parkinson's and Sickle Cell as well as other food related ailments.

Plant-Based Meals on Wheels will provide delicious meals, salads, beverages, and desserts created from the best organic plant-based ingredients that have been found to help manage or cure diseases. We will also be organically growing your "medicine" on our BVOT Brandon Street Farm in Alliston, Ontario.

2019-MUHTADI INTERNATIONAL DRUMMING FESTIVAL
This year we are designating an area exclusively for vendors to provide an international selection of vegan products and services.

Our International Vegan Marketplace will highlight tasty and healthful plant-based vegan foods from many cultures around the world.

We share a universal responsibility to maintain a healthy planet for us humans, all other living beings, and for the many generations of people and animals to come.

Eating clean, plant-based, vegan food and avoiding the use of animal by-products are two of the best ways to achieve and sustain this goal! VENDORS WELCOME!
