☕ Making coffee with filtered alkaline water can improve its taste for a few reasons:
Reduces Acidity – Coffee is naturally acidic, but alkaline water can slightly neutralize some of that acidity, leading to a smoother, less bitter taste.
Enhances Flavor Extraction – The pH and mineral content of water affect how coffee solubles dissolve. Alkaline water (with balanced minerals) can extract flavors more evenly, bringing out sweeter, richer notes.
Filters Out Impurities – Regular tap water might have chlorine, heavy metals, or other impurities that can give coffee an off taste. Filtering removes these, allowing the true coffee flavors to shine.
Mineral Content Improves Body – Good coffee water should have some minerals like magnesium and calcium, which help with proper extraction and give coffee a fuller, more balanced mouthfeel.
If your tap water is too soft (low in minerals) or too hard (high in minerals), it can negatively impact coffee. Filtered alkaline water often hits a sweet spot that enhances flavor clarity and smoothness ☕
