Wow, so many dads in Recovery would rather spend thousands or hundreds of thousands to get custody than do the work of healing.
We can get attached to the victim story or stay angry.
Doing the work may be harder and not seem like the best option. I say that Love is the way, the best way for everyone, especially our kids.

I don't think there's anything I can say about Paul Lowe will accurately tell of him. Thinking about this video for a few days, I realize that I can only speak of memories, interpretations, and realizations.
Paul was Patient, Compassionate, Loving, and often very direct.
He would reveal to us how caught up we were in our belief systems, ideas that I just assumed were true.
Until I met Paul, I had not really questioned Life, I just believed that there was something wrong with me, And That was why I didn't fit in.
Paul helped me see that there was nothing to fit into, that as the old ideas were dropped, I could live in this moment and be free. He taught us by example not to take it all too seriously.
I am so grateful for the gift of meeting and sitting with Paul Lowe and the many other people that he attracted from all over the world

Stay the coarse.

Stay the coarse.

Dear Dad Who Was Kept From His Child,

I know you don’t talk about it much.
Not the way it really felt.
Not the ache.
Not the way it broke something in you to love a child you weren’t allowed to show up for.

You tried.
You called.
You texted.
You showed up when you were allowed—
And mourned every moment you weren’t.

You missed milestones, not by choice but by force.
You weren’t there for the first steps,
the school plays,
the birthdays that passed with no invitation.

And I know people made assumptions.
I know they whispered things like “He could have tried harder,”not knowing how many doors were slammed in your face.

Not knowing what it’s like to be painted as absent when your heart never missed a beat for that child.

You carry guilt you didn’t earn.
You carry grief that never leaves.
And you carry a kind of love that has had nowhere to land for far too long.

But please hear this:

Your child will know.
One day, they’ll ask the questions.
One day, they’ll piece it together.
One day, they’ll feel the truth in the quiet corners—the love that waited, the effort that was buried, the father who never stopped hoping.

So keep showing up in whatever ways you can.
Even if it’s just prayers.
Even if it’s just love whispered into the silence.
Even if it’s just waiting.

Because the kind of father who wants to be there,
who aches to be there—
is still a father.

And that kind of love doesn’t disappear.
It holds on.
It grows.
It stays.

Just like you have.

Dads in Recovery, I'm so honoured to be chosen to carry this mission.
As men sign up for this one-day discovery event on the 29th of March, I see that its the beginning of a new life for me and hopefully for the men in the room.
The men who are coming are so vulnerable and open about their relationships with their kids and extended families. I am humbled.
My mission is to support the dads in having a transformational experience, no matter what their situation is with their kids.
I pray that they really get how important they are as Dad and that we are in this together.
