Adriana Alternative Helping people stop fixing themselves and start understanding themselves through workshops, coaching, and honest conversations that create real change.

Adriana Alternative is a wellness space for people who don’t fit neatly into traditional self-help, productivity, or healing systems. Created by Adriana Lapusniak, this work blends lived experience, research, and grounded practices that help people understand themselves, regulate their nervous systems, and build lives that actually fit. Many people who find this space have spent years feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, burnt out, or stuck in cycles of trying to “fix” themselves — without realizing there may be deeper wiring, sensitivity, or systemic factors at play. Here, the focus is on clarity, radical self-acceptance, nervous system awareness, and practical insight — without shame, force, or spiritual bypassing.

“But you don’t seem autistic.”

What people don’t see is how much energy it can take to appear completely fine.

The conversations you push through. The overwhelm you hide. The exhaustion that hits when you’re finally somewhere you feel safe.

For years, I didn’t fully recognize how much I was masking—or how disconnected I’d become from my own warning signs.

Just because someone can’t see your struggles doesn’t mean they aren’t real.

For those of us discovering our neurodivergence later in life, recognizing these patterns can completely change how we understand ourselves.

🤍 Did you recognize your masking before or after discovering you were autistic?

I’m Adriana, and I share lived experience and perspectives on autism, ADHD, neurodivergence, and radical self-acceptance.

Follow Adriana Alternative | Self-Understanding & Healing if you’re learning to understand yourself beyond the expectations you’ve spent your life trying to meet.

What if you’re not a problem that needs solving?

How much energy have you spent replaying conversations, questioning your reactions, trying to be better, or wondering why you can’t just get it right?

What if some of those reactions actually make sense in a world that asks so much of us?

Radical self-acceptance isn’t about giving up on growth. It’s about not making self-rejection a requirement for it.

And maybe what we need isn’t another thing to fix.

Maybe it’s understanding, connection, and a community where we can show up as we are. 🤍

That’s why I host a free Radical Self-Acceptance Live every Saturday on Insight Timer.

✨ Join us tomorrow at 8 a.m. Vancouver time.

Come as you are. We’ll share, reflect, meditate, and explore what it means to meet ourselves with more compassion.

What’s one thing you’re learning to stop judging yourself for?

There’s a strange phase of becoming yourself that nobody really prepares you for.

You know who you are. Your self-worth is changing. You can feel that something in you has shifted.

But your life hasn’t caught up yet.

The people around you may still relate to an older version of you. Friendships can start feeling different. Jobs that once made sense suddenly feel too small. Rejection can hit especially hard because part of you is thinking: Can’t you see what I see?

And sometimes they can’t. Not yet. Maybe not ever.

That gap can be brutal.

But eventually, you stop needing your environment to confirm what you already know.

You stand differently. You make different choices. You stop shrinking yourself to maintain relationships, roles and versions of your life that no longer fit.

And slowly, the outside starts reorganizing around what changed inside.

Sometimes your life doesn’t validate your growth immediately.

Sometimes you have to live it first.

If you’re in that uncomfortable space between who you were and the life you’re building, my free Radical Self-Acceptance Starter Guide is linked in my bio. 🤍

Surrender sounds beautiful in theory… until you’re actually asked to let go. 😂❤️

I’ve been thinking a lot about manifestation, alignment, and what happens when we stop trying to force every part of our lives into place.

But surrender isn’t about sitting around waiting for life to happen. And it certainly doesn’t mean abandoning yourself, your needs, or your dreams.

It’s learning to take meaningful action while making room for possibilities you couldn’t have planned for.

And sometimes, especially when you’ve spent years trying to understand, anticipate, or control everything around you, that can feel incredibly uncomfortable.

This is part of why I created Adriana Alternative — a space for exploring radical self-acceptance, neurodivergence, healing, and building a life that actually works with who you are.

Not another set of rules about who you’re supposed to become. ❤️

There are versions of you that exist in different rooms.

The version your family sees.
The version your workplace labels.
The version that comes out around the people who actually make you feel safe.

And when you’re becoming more yourself, something strange can happen: you can feel more certain about who you are while being more misunderstood by the people around you.

Especially when they knew a version of you that was easier for them to understand.

Being misunderstood doesn’t mean you’re wrong. Being unseen doesn’t make you smaller. And someone else’s inability to recognize you doesn’t make what you know about yourself less real.

Sometimes radical self-acceptance looks like trusting what you know about yourself before everyone around you has caught up.

If you’re in that place right now, my free Radical Self-Acceptance Starter Guide is linked in my bio. 🤍

A little reintroduction for the new faces around here. 🥹❤️

I’m Adriana, the person behind Adriana Alternative — where wellness meets your wiring.

I’ve been learning that the more I embrace who I actually am, the more life has room to surprise me.

Not because everything is perfect, or because I’ve figured it all out. But because I’m learning to stop forcing myself into versions of who I think I should be.

And lately, some beautiful opportunities have been unfolding. Including getting invited onto a podcast to talk about neurodivergence, radical self-acceptance, and the work I’m so passionate about! 🎙️✨

Around here, we explore what it means to stop fixing ourselves and start understanding ourselves — through real conversations, community, and a whole lot of self-discovery.

If you’re new, welcome! And if you’ve been here for a while, thank you for growing alongside me. ❤️

What’s something you’ve been learning to embrace about yourself lately?

Summer love is an understatement 🌞

This was the first summer I’ve had since living in the city that wasn’t drenched in soul searching, studying, and spiritual growth.

It was the first summer that everything I had been working on in isolation came into practice.

A balance of work and play. Of health and of indulgence.

Of everything.

My work is scattered all over the place in the sweet chaos of it all.

New substacks, content and so much more coming soon. 🎢

I think one of the most interesting things about radical self-acceptance is that it doesn’t actually end with you.

When you stop treating every difference, struggle or imperfect reaction as something that needs to be fixed, it changes the way you meet yourself.

But eventually, it also changes the way you meet other people.

There’s a little more room for complexity.

A little less need for everyone to think, feel, communicate or move through life the same way.

A little less pressure to turn difference into deficiency.

And that’s why I don’t think self-acceptance is passive or purely personal.

The way we learn to relate to ourselves becomes part of how we relate to everyone around us.

Maybe changing the world doesn’t always begin with becoming louder, stronger or more certain.

Sometimes it begins much more quietly:

with learning how to stop fighting ourselves.

If you want to explore what radical self-acceptance can actually look like in your own life, my Radical Self-Acceptance Starter Guide is free. 🔗 in bio.

I don’t think the goal of healing is becoming a better version of yourself.

I think it’s slowly giving yourself permission to stop abandoning the person you’ve been all along.

So many of us spend years trying to earn our worth.

Through achievement.

Through productivity.

Through people-pleasing.

Through healing itself.

But what if the life you’re looking for doesn’t begin when you’ve finally “fixed” yourself?

What if it begins the moment you stop believing you were someone who needed fixing in the first place.

If this found you at the right time, I hope it reminds you to be a little gentler with yourself today. 🤍
