Gia was awarded the Brilliance team MVP belt at cheer practice. 🥹
Sitting on the sidelines watching your team work after hyperextending your knee is brutal for a 10-year-old athlete.
She could have checked out or felt sorry for herself.
Instead, she showed up. Did all her physio exercises. Conditioned on the side.
Stayed vocal, asked for feedback, and cheered her team on from the edge of the mat.
Her first day cleared to stunt and tumble again, and she stepped onto the mat with zero hesitation.
Her coaches handed her the belt, telling the squad that her mindset during recovery is the exact standard they want the whole team to chase.
Brilliant coaching. When leaders intentionally reward work ethic, coachability, and attitude over just the skills on the floor, kids learn lessons that carry way past sports.
Proud mom moment watching her turn a setback into proof of who she is. 🤍
Sports parents, what is one character trait or off-the-mat habit you love seeing coaches celebrate?
