Rather than importing complex technology, it places informal workers at the centre of the challenge to remove single-use plastic in the vast archipelago of the Philippines. By paying workers fairly, it stops waste before it reaches dumps, rivers, or beaches.

These women in Senegal are turning dead farmland into thriving food gardens!

And it’s thanks to three simple things!

This is Darou Khoudoss, where years of failing rain left the ground hard and cracked.

But today there are rows of vegetables where there used to be dust.

So how did they do it?

First, the land.

For a long time, women here have been shut out of owning land, but here they’re helped to secure plots of their own.

Then, the greenhouses.

Solar pumps use water really efficiently, sending it straight to the roots using free clean energy, and the greenhouse shades the crops so they can grow all year round.

And then, arguably the most powerful tool of all.

Every woman who learns to farm passes those skills on, creating an expanding ecosystem of women farmers.

Across Senegal, women grow 80% of the country’s food, yet get the least support and the least land.

And as heat climbs past 45°C in parts of the country, there’s real fear land like this stops feeding people, a fear the whole world now shares.

But this work by Our Legacy Foundation, set up by Oulimata Sarr, shows there’s real hope, and they’ve got a goal of supporting millions of women farmers into the future.

Festival Ladera Sur 🌎

GUARDA LA FECHA‼️ Festival cumple cinco años y abre postulaciones para ser parte de la fiesta de naturaleza más grande de Chile‼️

🌿 ¡En este inicio del invierno, estamos felices de contarles que ya tenemos fecha! El Festival Ladera Sur, presentado Banco Bci, celebra sus cinco años con una nueva edición que promete reunir, una vez más, a miles de personas en torno a la naturaleza, la conservación y la vida sustentable.

📅 La invitación es a reservar los días 13, 14 y 15 de noviembre de 2026 para ser parte de esta gran celebración, que se realizará en el Parque Santa Rosa de Apoquindo, en Santiago de Chile.

🌎 Durante tres jornadas, el festival contará con charlas, talleres, música en vivo, una feria de emprendimientos, actividades para niños y niñas, espacios dedicados al arte, el outdoor y el turismo, además de diversas experiencias para conectar con la naturaleza y las personas que trabajan por su protección.

✨ Además, desde este 21 de junio se abrirán las postulaciones para quienes quieran ser parte de esta nueva edición. La convocatoria está dirigida a organizaciones y fundaciones, emprendedores y marcas, proyectos de huertos y viveros, foodtrucks, bandas y músicos, talleres para adultos y niños, y diversas iniciativas vinculadas al medioambiente y la vida sustentable.
