Sometimes, the most important words are the simplest.

“I believe you.”

When someone trusts you enough to share something painful, you don’t need to have all the answers. You don’t need to fix everything or ask for every detail.

Listen. Believe them. Let them decide what they need next.

The way we respond matters. A little understanding can make it easier for someone to feel heard rather than alone.

If you want to learn more about supporting survivors, explore the resources on our website.

You don’t have to be a survivor to make a difference.

Change happens when people choose to listen, learn, challenge harmful attitudes and stand alongside survivors.

Whether you’re a friend, family member, parent or simply someone who believes things need to change, there is a place for you here.

We all have a part to play in creating a world where survivors are believed, supported and never made to feel alone.

Sometimes the first step doesn’t need to be a big one. 🤍

One word. One truth. One lil’ whisper.

You don’t have to share your whole story, explain yourself or find the perfect words. Your voice, your timing, your choice.

Whether you’re sharing something of your own or leaving a message of hope for someone else, every lil’ whisper matters.

Whenever you’re ready, you can share yours anonymously.

There are so many things survivors can tell themselves before they ever reach for support.

It happened too long ago.
It wasn’t bad enough.
I should be over it by now.
Maybe it was my fault.
I should just move on.
I don’t know where to start.

These thoughts can become part of the silence.

The Survivor Toolkit was created because sometimes knowing where to begin is one of the hardest parts.

It’s a place to find information, resources and practical guidance when you’re trying to make sense of what has happened, understand your options or simply find the next step.

You don’t have to tell your story.
You don’t have to make a decision.
You don’t have to be ready for everything.

You can just start by reading.

The Survivor Toolkit is free to download through We As One, and it’s there for you to come back to in your own time.

If one of those thoughts sounds familiar, start with the toolkit. 🤍

We tell ourselves silence keeps us safe. But who does it really protect?

Sexual abuse isn't just a personal trauma. It's a wider issue that affects families, communities and generations.

When we treat it as someone else's problem, when we look away or decide it's not our place to ask questions, the harm can continue.

Breaking the silence doesn't mean putting pressure on survivors to share their stories. It means creating a world where people are listened to, believed and supported — and where abuse is no longer something we avoid talking about.

We've explored this further in our article, Silence Is the Epidemic.

It's time we stopped pretending it's someone else's problem.

We are all Jane Doe.

Behind every headline is a real person. And behind her are countless others who recognise some part of her story, and have never said it out loud.

The allegations in the Jane Doe v. Cornell case are reported, not proven, and the case is under investigation. But the conversation it has started is bigger than one case.

It’s about what happens when people see something and stay silent. Silence is a choice, and it protects the wrong people.

Speaking up doesn’t always mean being loud. Sometimes it’s listening, believing, or simply being the person who says “I’m here.”

If this has stirred something for you, you don’t have to explain it to anyone. You can share your own lil’ whisper with We As One, anonymously, whenever you’re ready.

Your voice. Your timing. Your choice. 🩷

Sometimes the bravest thing you'll ever do is barely audible. 🤍
You don't have to tell the whole story. You don't have to be ready. You just have to start, with one lil' whisper.
Someone will hear it. Someone will believe you.
You're not alone. You matter.

Some conversations are difficult. Some are uncomfortable. And some are conversations we don’t know how to start.

But avoiding them doesn’t make them any easier.

We need to talk about abuse. About boundaries. About safety. About what we teach our children. And about how we respond when someone finally finds the words to tell us.

Because the conversations we have today can change what someone feels able to say tomorrow.

Sometimes, starting the conversation is the first step.
