💚 Today is World Mental Health Day, a reminder of how important it is to look after our mental health and support one another.
I’m delighted to be volunteering at West Lothian Mental Health Day on Monday, offering free Reiki taster sessions alongside so many wonderful local organisations. 💚✨
If you’re in the area, come along, have a chat, find out what support is available locally and take a little time for your own wellbeing. There are still some Reiki taster slots available on the day, so pop along and see us!

📍 Strathbrock Partnership Centre, Broxburn
Hope to see some of you there! 💚🌿
🌍💚 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 💚🌍
10 October | A Global Message. A Local Movement.
Today marks World Mental Health Day, an internationally recognised day established in 1992 by the World Federation for Mental Health and supported by the World Health Organization (WHO).
World Mental Health Day is about more than raising awareness. It is built around important values that remind us why mental health matters to everyone:
💗 Awareness – Increasing understanding of mental health and mental illness.
🩵 Inclusion – Ensuring everyone feels valued, accepted and respected.
💜 Reducing Stigma – Challenging misconceptions, discrimination and the barriers that prevent people from seeking support.
💚 Equality & Dignity – Recognising that mental health is a fundamental human right.
💛 Access to Support – Helping people find the information, services and care they need.
💙 Lived Experience – Listening to real voices and recognising the importance of people's experiences.
🩷 Collective Action – Bringing individuals, communities and organisations together to create positive change.
🌈 FROM A GLOBAL MOVEMENT TO A LOCAL IMPACT!
These values are at the very heart of West Lothian Mental Health Day.
Inspired by the principles of World Mental Health Day, our local event brings together mental health services, charities, community organisations, professionals and people with lived experience, all working towards a shared goal.
We want to make mental health conversations easier, challenge stigma, raise awareness of the incredible support available locally and strengthen connections across our communities.
Because mental health is everyone's business, and knowing where to turn for support can make a real difference.
💚 World Mental Health Day reminds us why this work matters. West Lothian Mental Health Day is one way we put those values into action, right here in our own community.
