💜 Monday Museful Moment 💜
The more work I do around the nervous system, the more I realise that resilience goes much deeper than just “bouncing back”.
For me, it’s about capacity. Having room within ourselves to feel what life brings, and finding our way back when it all feels too much.
All our emotions are valid. We can feel sadness, anger, frustration, excitement and joy. We don’t have to be calm all the time to be doing well.
You might have heard me talk about our “window of tolerance”. It’s the space where we can experience emotions and still feel able to cope with what’s happening.
When we’re exhausted or have been holding too much for too long, that space can feel quite small. Even one more little thing can tip us into overwhelm, or leave us wanting to shut everything out.
The tools and practices I share are ways of nourishing our nervous system and gradually building more room. Room to feel, to respond, to recover and to recognise when we need support, too.
That’s what resilience means to me. Being able to move through life’s challenges and emotions, and find our way back to feeling anchored again.
For me, flower essences, being out in nature, giving myself Jin Shin Jyutsu and nourishing my body with glycans are just four of the ways that help me find my way back when life feels a bit much.
I would love to hear what helps you find your way back? 💜
