š© BAD WEDDING ADVICE: āBook your hair and makeup 6 months before your wedding.ā
Please donāt listen to this information!
I take most of my wedding bookings 12ā18 months in advance. And as a one-woman business, I can only take ONE wedding per day.
If youāre getting married during peak summer season, Iād recommend booking your hair and makeup artist around 12 months before your wedding, especially if youāve found someone whose work you absolutely love. š¤
Does that mean I donāt take last-minute bookings? Absolutely not! I do, and I get that some people book last minute deals and life happens and sometimes you just donāt have a year to plan.
You might get lucky. But the closer you leave it, the less likely your favourite artist will still have your date available.
Hereās my advice: as soon as your venue is booked, start enquiring with your favourite suppliers.
Donāt wait until a wedding planning website tells you itās time. Those timelines are quite often outdated copy and paste information someone has seen somewhere and repeated.
Your wedding date is one of the few things you canāt change to fit around someone elseās diary. Get those enquiries sent!
Save this for your (real) wedding planning checklist. From someone living it both sides š°š»āāļø š
