Our story. The Cats Pyjamas Kindness Co. Ltd was founded by Tracy Hill.

Storytelling for Children & Families | South Wales | Nature, Well-being, Well-being & Creativity 🌱 Storytelling Resources for Children-let your imagination run wild! The focus of the company is to provide workshops encouraging self belief, living with grief, and life after loss. Workshops include, story telling, walking in nature and business storytelling. We all have a story to tell, and the method by which we tell them, can generate opportunities, help us overcome challenges and create interest. By telling a story, we open ourselves up to another person or persons and share personal information which has the potential to forge future trusting relationships. The business name was inspired by my own father. He was a man that had an enormous amount of positivity and creativity. He never let his disability define him and it didn’t stop him living a fun and happy life. He was an inspiration and I admired his strength and courage. He fought a tough battle with cancer in later life that defeated him eventually. However, he remained dignified in his fight and found the courage to still laugh and enjoy the little moments in life. He was simply The Cat's Pyjamas. Each of the workshops are designed uniquely and stand alone, and with ‘you’ in mind. They share a common goal and that is to encourage you to be creative, be yourself and share a unique story. Being with others that are going through, or have been through similar experiences as us can help us to feel listened to and worthy. In life we can experience traumatic and life changing events, these can change our direction and our perception. However, having a coping strategy can help us to have perspective. From my own life experiences I have developed many coping strategies to help me through tough times. Having gone through some heartbreaking losses, I have often found myself struggling with ‘life’. But what I know for sure is, life does, and has to go on. Coping mechanisms are different for everyone. For me I have found that being in nature can help me and I feel safe and it's my sanctuary. Likewise, sharing my stories and speaking of my losses has helped me to accept that this is part of life and that acceptance plays a vital role in recovery and healing. You can join me and others on a walking route in nature, a storytelling workshop or a business storytelling event. You will feel safe, listened to and part of a caring community. Kindness starts with being kind to yourself. Only then can you share your kindness with others. It’s perfectly okay to put yourself first. Welcome to The Cats Pyjamas Kindness Co. Ltd

Maybe magic was never something we had to find ✨

Maybe it was there all along.

In the things we walk past.
The things we overlook.
The little moments we almost miss.

Perhaps we just need to look a little closer. ✨

How often do you go for a walk, return to your car or your starting point, and realise you’ve barely noticed the little things living alongside you?

I went for a walk the other day to our local forest. And as I often do, I wandered off the path!

This is where you find the magic!

There is an art to noticing.

You might be walking through the forest, taking photographs of the things that catch your eye.

The light through the trees.
The shape of an old branch.
The moss beneath your feet.

And then, suddenly…

There it is.

The tiniest snail.

I didn’t see it at first, as it was so tiny!

Simply living its own little existence amongst the moss, fungi, and forest floor!

Isn’t nature wonderful?

If we just pause, take some time, and look, who knows what we will find! And the stories that can be created from our treasures, are endless 🌳🍂🍄‍🟫

Do you have a favourite place? 🌳

I often think about this.

She didn’t have a favourite place.

She simply had a favourite feeling.

Often hard to explain, because feelings can’t be described so easily.

But she knew. When a place felt like home, was peaceful, or felt nostalgic, she knew it was her favourite feeling.

Whether she was surrounded by trees, loved ones, books, creative tools, paint, or holding a nice pen even. She felt it.

Often it was a beach, or a jagged path. But wherever it was, it always led her to where she belonged 👣

And sometimes she would smile and say,

“This is my new favourite place.”

Because in that moment, it was.

It wasn’t really the place she loved.

It was the feeling it gave her.

And perhaps that was the secret ♥️

Have you ever had that feeling? ✨🌳

Over at Coed Danu CIC we were thrilled to be invited to join Urban Long Forest / Coedwig Hir Drefol to talk about nature, our stories, and what’s to come for us as a CIC. Thank you to Morgan and Jack for being the perfect hosts, and once we calmed down, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves 😊

And a huge thank you to Elise Hughes for friendship, that’s turned into a working partnership, and our shared love of nature and well-being, and of course, storytelling ♥️🌳

Leave a little room for wonder ✨

Not every moment needs an activity.
Not every silence needs filling.
Not every afternoon needs a plan.

Sometimes, children just need time to notice what’s already there.

🪶 A feather.
🍂 A leaf.
🪵 A stick.
✨ A little bit of imagination.

The story is often hiding in the ordinary 🍄

Sometimes it just needs a little prompting 📝(Our imagination that is) 🌻

I planted my sunflower seeds late, and just last week they started to bloom, gloriously 🌻

I watered it.
I waited.
I watched it grow.

Some days there seemed to be very little happening at all.

Just a small green shoot,
quietly making its way upwards.

And then, one day, almost when I had stopped looking for it… it bloomed.

Not early.
Not according to anyone else’s timetable.

Just when it was ready.

And perhaps we are a little like sunflowers.

We plant seeds throughout our lives.

A thought.
An idea.
A tiny spark of curiosity.
Something we have always wanted to try.
Something we didn’t even realise was waiting inside us.

Sometimes those seeds take years to grow.

Sometimes life gets in the way.

Sometimes we spend so long doing what needs to be done that we forget there might still be something waiting to grow.

And sometimes we look around and think, I’m too old now.

I should have found my thing by now.

Everyone else seems to be ahead of me.

But perhaps there is no too late.

Perhaps we are simply growing beneath the surface.

I know this now.

Some of the things that matter most to me arrived later in life.

Storytelling.
Creativity.
A new found love of Nature.
A desire to create something that might make another person pause, wonder, listen or feel seen.

Some seeds take a little longer.
Some stories take a little longer to be told.
And some flowers take their time before they open 🌻

If you’re thinking you have missed your opportunity to ‘bloom’, you haven’t. It might just be that you’re getting prepared ♥️
