Last week, CPW hosted a flu vaccination event at the Senedd! 💉

We were delighted to engage with MSs and Senedd staff, some of whom received their flu vaccination at our stand.

A big thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us about the vital role community pharmacies play in protecting public health through early intervention and vaccination.

A big thank you to MW Phillips Pharmacies and to Sandeep and Phil for running the flu clinic, and to Camlas Public Affairs for their help in organising.

Over the weekend, Community Pharmacy Wales attended the Plaid Cymru Conference in Llandudno 💊

It was valuable to engage with MSs and delegates on the vital role of community pharmacy in delivering accessible NHS services across Wales, and the contribution pharmacies make to dispensing medicines, early intervention, prevention and supporting people with acute care needs.

We also discussed the opportunities to further embed community pharmacy within the future of primary care in Wales - making better use of the skills and expertise of the pharmacy workforce, improving access to care in local communities, and supporting a sustainable NHS.

As we look towards the future, community pharmacy has an important role to play in delivering care closer to home and helping build healthier communities across Wales.

Yesterday CPW were pleased to accompany colleagues from Digital Health and Care Wales on their first set of visits to community pharmacies in Wales.

Ayala Gordon- Service Owner for Pharmacy, Dental and Optometry, and Claire West- Lead Delivery Manager for Choose Pharmacy are embarking on a series of visits to better understand how services operate day to day and gather evidence that will help shape future digital discovery work in the community pharmacy domain.
