- If your head is loud, exhale for longer than your inhale. Four in, six out, until you lose count

- If you can’t do the thing you know helps, try lying on the floor with your legs up the wall

How life feels now that I write before I check my phone 📖

This is the "ideal" version of my morning. On most days, I wake up a little late, catch some sunlight from the balcony (good for the circadian rhythm they say) instead of stepping out the door, and do a mix of journaling/yoga to turn inward before the world rushes in and I open my inbox.

The fifth of the eight limbs of yoga is Pratyahara, which means withdrawing the senses. In the modern world, the practice can also be seen as not letting every sound, ping and screen pull your attention outwards. I find it much easier with a pen in my hand, because writing or doodling gives my mind one thing to focus on.

What I mean when I say I run a yoga brand:

Well, it does not mean doing yoga all day everyday! 😬

Most days it looks like packing yoga mats, filling bolsters and eye pillows on my living room floor, planning content, messaging artisans in Madagascar, following up with a stockist and cleaning mats after an event hire in London.

Every one of these activities comes back to a deep desire to make yoga more colourful, more inclusive, accessible and more sustainable.

That means yoga gear designed or handmade by African artists, PVC-free mats, fairly paid artists, plastic-free packaging and a mangrove tree planted in Madagascar for every mat sold 🌳

And when I have a bit more time or feel a little delulu… well…I create new products 🥳
