Well, that’s a wrap on the 2026 challenges and it’s hard to find the words to summarise this one.
5th September - The ROC England 112km triathlon THE ROC ✅
13th September - The Great North Run half marathon Great Run
Two unforgettable days for their own amazing reasons, but both made all the more special by the atmosphere created by organisers, volunteers and crowds on the day!
The two days themselves were nothing but sheer enjoyment - the culmination of the 6 months of pain that came before when I set my sights on the two challenges, to try and prepare myself mentally as much as physically.
As always, getting the medals around my neck feels incredible, but what this has really been about is setting my mind on something, going out and achieving it, and raising as much awareness as possible for Tyneside & Northumberland Mind along the way - a local charity that does so much for the mental health sector.
Mental ill health isn’t something that ever goes away, it’s just something you learn to cope with to give yourself the best possible chance, and charities like Tyneside & Northumberland Mind help people find that path when they can’t quite see it themselves.
A huge thanks to everyone who’s supported and donated along the way - time to recover and see what 2027 has in store… 🤔
