Plus Perth and Kinross
Mental Health Awareness Week begins next Monday 10-16 May
Looking after our mental health is a job very well done. When we are content in ourselves we are more reassuring and fun to be with, and in such challenging times as these that counts for so much.
Being aware/paying attention to our mental health is a good place to start.

We're very sad to hear of the passing of Dianna Manson. Dianna was a director with VOX for 5 years, and throughout her involvement showed a great deal of strength, determination and compassion.

Dianna did a great deal to ensure that change was driven by people with lived experience, she was a spirited and warm advocate and we are grateful for the rich legacy that Dianna has left for us.

We were very saddened to hear recently that one of our long standing directors at VOX, Colin Murchie has passed away. Colin had been a director with VOX since 2009, and had been involved in a number of strands of work over the years, including representing VOX at a Mental Health Europe event in Alborg.

We will remember Colin for his sometimes controversial sense of humor, and for his kind heart. He gave time and energy over the years to a number of charities and always added a huge dose of warmth and laughter. We will miss you Colin.

Whilst a great deal of research recently has focussed on population health and how those with no previous mental health problems are being affected by the pandemic, we want to highlight the impact on those with lived experience of mental health issues. We found 70% were most worried about their mental health deteriorating. This is not unexpected, however, it is important to note that this was seen as more of a concern than catching the virus for our members, the full report can be found in our publications section.
