34 f@cking years.
I just want to celebrate this woman.
We met in high school when we were about 14, and somehow, through all the versions of ourselves, all the lives we’ve lived, all the s**t that happened in between… we are still here.
Still friends.
And I realised this might actually be the longest continuous relationship I’ve had in my life outside of family.
And f@ck, that means something.
Because this woman has seen 🤪ALL OF ME😈
She has seen me completely f@cked up in my food addiction.
She has seen me struggling.
Changing.
Moving.
Falling apart.
Putting myself back together.
Not coping.
Being crazy.
Being difficult.
Being a bitch.
Probably not being a particularly great friend at times.
She has witnessed so many versions of me.
And somehow… she stayed.
With compassion.
With acceptance.
With love.
And with that incredible ability to let me be exactly where I am without trying to make me into somebody else.
There are some relationships in life that become so familiar, so woven into the fabric of who we are, that we can almost forget how f@cking precious they are.
I don’t want to forget.
I don’t want to take this for granted.
I feel incredibly privileged to have had this woman walking beside me for over 34 years.
I can’t tag her.
I’m not going to name her.
But you know who you are♥️
And most people who know us will know exactly who I’m talking about.
Thank you for loving me through so many versions of me.
Thank you for still being here.
And thank you for this beautiful long weekend together — doing what we do, completely in our element, like somehow no time has passed at all.
34 years, bejb ♥️♥️♥️
What a f@cking privilege. ❤️
