As Scotland’s Bear Love teacher, I get a lot of questions from practitioners asking about flumies. So, I’ve put together a small, intensive two day flumie workshop here at Sound Therapy Scotland studio in Kilmarnock.

This will be the most comprehensive flumie workshop available in Scotland, covering proper technique, the B Love Method, and how to bring flumies into your gong sessions with real intention and skill.

Flumie technique is already taught as standard in my Gong Practitioner courses. This workshop is an opportunity for practitioners who trained elsewhere to access the same depth of learning.

This is not a course for sound teachers looking to add this technique to their classes, it’s for gong players and practitioners who want to develop their own playing.

Places are limited to 3 people on each workshops.

Last week we were back at Broder and Ines Oetken’s in Germany for their gong building workshop, and this time we brought some Scottish practitioners with us.

Last year Alan and I went over and each made a 16 inch gong. This year we made a 20 inch gong. Two days is never enough to learn a craft that takes years and years to master, but to come home with something you have made yourself is something else. The skill and craftsmanship that Broder and his team put into making these amazing pieces is next level.

A huge thanks to the whole team at Broder Oetken who always make us feel so welcome. We’re already looking forward to going back next year, and hopefully with even more of the Scottish team 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What a weekend!
I was very honoured to be invited back to give a talk at Bear and Shion’s Golden Gong Gathering in Wales last weekend. This is a gathering that brings together gong players, practitioners, teachers and instrument makers from around the world as they share how they are working with sound in their own unique way, I love it!

It’s also great to spend time with people you only get to see at these events, one particular highlight for me was seeing Corrine and Yaelle again, with the extra special added bonus of being able to speak to Don twice on FaceTime thanks to Yaelle as she kept him updated on what was happening.

Thank you to Bear and Shion for your generosity, your hospitality and for creating something so special year after year. Already looking forward to next year 💫

I’m over the moon to announce that Sound Therapy Scotland is now a Dragonfly Percussion stockist!

Along with their excellent range of mallets for gong and bowls I now have their new Mike Tamburo mallets in stock too.

These mallets are available to buy at my private studio here in the West of Scotland, but I’ll also be bringing some of them with me in my travels as well as events I’ll be playing at this year.

Space available on the midweek Sound Practitioner Course starting in October.

Himalayan and crystal bowls are the main focus during this course, with the gong being introduced as well as other instruments.

Six months of structured in-person training, twelve months of mentorship from day one. CMA accredited.

All other courses are now fully booked.

Being an approved Broder Oetken stockist for the past year has meant that I now have a growing collection of Oetken gongs in the studio.
It’s been great for the practitioners to play them before choosing the one that’s right for them, but this is open to anyone seriously considering an Oetken instrument here in Scotland.

This 28 inch symphonic with the Tree of Life design is available at £1400. Sound clips and more instruments will be added to my website very soon.

In the meantime let me know if there is an Oetken gong that you are interested in.
