A little introduction for those who are new here 👋

I’m Linsey, the face behind A Place to Pause, a sound healing studio in Lightwater.

After years working in the corporate world in HR, I found myself drawn to something that felt deeply meaningful to me, creating a space where people could slow down, let go of the weight they carry and simply be.

My own sound journey began with Charlie Christie® | International Sound & Energy Intuitive , who genuinely changed my life. She opened my eyes to the incredible world of sound, teaching me not only about the science, the bowls and how to work with them, but also about intuition, trusting myself and the power of holding space for others. I learnt so much from her, and I’ll always be grateful for the part she played in my journey.

I then continued my studies with Silence + Noise by Janie , diving deeper into the neuroscience of sound and how it impacts our minds and bodies, which only made me more fascinated by this incredible work.

I know this is a journey I’ll be on for life. There is still so much I want to understand, particularly how sound can support neurodivergent minds, which is something very close to my heart 💙

The more I learn, the more I realise just how much there is to discover, and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to share this magic.

This is about so much more than singing bowls for me. It’s about helping people feel a little calmer, a little lighter, and a little more like themselves again.

And if I can help someone find even a small moment of that, then I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

When was the last time you took an hour just for you?

An hour without the to-do list, the constant thinking, or feeling like you need to be doing something for someone else.

Just time to slow down, breathe and let yourself switch off.

At A Place to Pause in Lightwater, Surrey, you can give yourself that time through 1:1 sound healing, Reiki or a private sound bath.

Get cosy, settle in, let the sounds wash over you and allow yourself to simply be. No expectations, no pressure to talk, just a little space to come back to yourself.

You spend so much of your time giving to others. This is your invitation to give a little time back to you.

If you’ve been craving a moment like this, I’d love to welcome you to A Place to Pause.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about why I actually opened A Place to Pause.

Not because I thought the world needed another sound bath, but because I knew how much I needed somewhere like this myself.

Somewhere you could walk through the door, put your phone away, stop thinking about what needs doing next and just have an hour where nobody needs anything from you.

And now, watching other people come through the door feeling stressed, frazzled and when their minds are running at a hundred miles an hour, and then seeing them leave looking softer somehow, with that little exhale that says I really needed that...

That’s the bit that gets me.

Because that’s exactly what I hoped this little space would become.

A place to pause, breathe, switch off and just be.

And honestly, I’m so grateful that you’re here 🤍

With love,
Linsey x

Imagine an hour with your favourite people where nobody needs anything from you...

That’s a private sound bath at A Place to Pause, here in Lightwater, Surrey.

It’s a beautiful way to spend time together, whether you’re celebrating a birthday, getting the girls together, marking a special occasion, or simply because you all need a little time to slow down, switch off and just be together.

You’ll get cosy, put your phones away, settle down on your mat and let the sounds and vibrations of the singing bowls wash over you, while I hold the space for you to breathe, listen and completely switch off.

There’s nothing you need to know or do, just come as you are, get comfortable and give yourself permission to simply be.

Private sound baths are available for groups of 2 to 8 people, and they really are such a beautiful way to spend an hour with the people you love and care about.

One year of A Place to Pause 🎈

Sometimes I look back at the last 12 months and can hardly believe how much has happened.

What started as an idea I couldn’t quite shake has become a real place - it’s a space that means so much to me, and somewhere I’ve had the privilege of welcoming so many lovely people.

Coincidentally, over the anniversary of this space I spent four beautiful days at the magical , training with and diving deeper into the neuroscience of sound.

Four days of learning, listening, exploring and being completely immersed in something I’ve become so fascinated by.

It reminded me why I started this in the first place. I’m endlessly curious about sound - about what it does to us, and about why it can have such a profound effect on our brain, body and nervous system.

There is so much more I want to learn, and so much more I want to explore.

Thank you to every person who has stepped through my door, booked a session, shared a post, recommended me to a friend or simply followed along.

You’ve helped make A Place to Pause what it is today and I’m so excited to take everything I’m learning into this next chapter 💗💗💗

There’s something quite beautiful about seeing sound like this.

Watch what happens to the water when the bowl is played - you can actually see the vibrations moving through it, creating these gentle ripples across the surface.

Our bodies are made up of around 70-80% water, so this gives us a beautiful visual representation of how physical sound and vibration can be.

The sounds of the bowls help shift your brain away from that busy, switched-on state we spend so much of our day in, towards slower brainwave activity associated with relaxation and meditation.

As the sounds and vibrations surround you, your body has a chance to release some of the tension it’s been holding, while your mind gradually becomes quieter.

This is why you can feel so different after a sound. You leave feeling lighter, calmer, more grounded - like you’ve finally been able to properly switch off.

For an hour, there’s nothing you need to do, nowhere you need to be and nothing you need to think about.

You can simply lie down, breathe and let yourself pause 💗
