It’s fair to say our award-winning PowerKraut went down well at The Cotton Works in Wigan
 😋

We always say taste comes first with our ferments.

And PowerKraut seems to have a habit of winning over people who don’t normally like sauerkraut.

We ferment organic British cabbage with beetroot, carrot, red onion, garlic, turmeric and black pepper. The carrot, beetroot and red onion bring a little natural sweetness, which balances that classic sauerkraut tang and makes it quite bold.

“Addictive” is a word we’ve heard quite a few times recently.

This lovely customer seemed to agree.

And you don’t need to catch us at a farmers market to try it anymore.

Build Your Box is now live for Mainland GB delivery. Pick your favourite Wild Pantry foods, mix your box and save more as you add more jars.

We know you’ve been waiting to this
We can FINALLY send Wild Pantry across mainland Britain! 💛

After months of testing boxes, insulation, ice packs and couriers, delivery is now LIVE.

Build Your Box with your favourite fermented food jars and the more you buy, the more you save, with prices from ÂŁ6 per jar.

Delivery is ÂŁ4.99 or FREE when you spend over ÂŁ35. So yes, this is your excuse to get your friends involved and order together.

And how your ferments get to you matters just as much as how they taste.

Every box is packed with ice and 100% recyclable natural wool insulation to keep your jars chilled and protected. Once you’re done with the wool, pop it in the garden and the birds might even pinch some for their nests.

Orders ship Monday to Wednesday with DPD on a next-day service.

For now, it’s fermented food jars only. Water Kefir is a little more sensitive, so we’re still working on that one. We’re getting close.

As far as Kent, Newcastle, Scotland and Wales have already had boxes heading their way.

This one means a lot to us 💛

When we started Wild Pantry, we wanted to build a food business with nature in mind.

That thinking has followed us from our first batches right through to today. From the ingredients we buy, to choosing local when the seasons allow. But not only that, Fermenting naturally with very little energy, packing everything in glass rather than plastic and thinking carefully about how our food gets from us to you.

We’re not perfect though, we’re still just two people figuring things out, learning and trying to make better choices as we grow.

So finding out that Wild Pantry is one of just four finalists for the Sustainability Award at The Guide Liverpool Heroes 2026 was a pretty special moment.

Especially when we think back to where we started just over a year ago.

Now we need your help.

The award is decided by public vote and we’d absolutely love to bring this one home.

If you’ve bought a jar, tried our Water Kefir, visited us at a market, recommended us to someone or simply followed our journey, please cast your vote for Wild Pantry.

You’ll find the voting link in our bio.

Thank you for being part of this with us!

Daniel & Alice

For us, it starts with a pretty simple question:

How can we make food that’s good for your gut, while making better choices about how it gets there?

From what goes into our jars to how they reach you, that question shapes a lot of the choices we make.

It starts with organic wherever we can.

Farming without synthetic pesticides and fertilisers, with practices that support soil health and biodiversity.

And when we can buy closer to home, we do.

For much of the year, 87% of the ingredients in our PowerKraut are grown within just 5km of where we ferment it, and with ImmuniKraut is is 77%.

Fewer food miles and proper local food.

It costs us a lot more, but it’s always glass.

Every bottle of Water Kefir and every jar of ferments goes into glass with aluminium caps.

Glass can be reused again and again, and recycled without losing the quality of the material.

It also means more than 12,000 bottles and jars of Wild Pantry ferments have gone out without using plastic bottles or jars.

For us, that’s wort

This is something we’ve been working on for a while... 👀

And if you’ve travelled from outside Merseyside to find us at an event, you’ll probably know exactly what it is.

We’ve spent the past few months testing ways to keep our ferments cold and protected on the road. They’re alive, so sometimes they have a mind of their own. That’s part of making proper, all-natural food.

And we’re finally nearly there.

For now, it’ll be our range of jars, Water Kefir will follow in the coming months.

So, to everyone who’s travelled to find us, messaged us or politely waited for us to get things rolling, it’s almost time.

Very soon, you won’t need to live near us to get Wild Pantry delivered to your door.

From next-day delivery to a little guidebook to help you make fermented foods part of everyday life.

We can’t wait to start sending our living ferments across the mainland (no NI or British Isles yet).

What started with a pre-cancerous diagnosis, and the health journey it sent us both on, has somehow turned into something far bigger than we ever imagined.

Today, finding out someone had made a 140-mile round trip just to come and buy our Water Kefir really stopped us in our tracks.

Whether you’re a regular at our markets, one of our stockists, someone who tells their friends about us, or someone willing to travel 70 miles each way to find us, we’re so grateful you’re part of Wild Pantry.

And hopefully those long journeys won’t be needed for much longer.

We’re nearly ready to turn on UK delivery for our fermented jars. We’re feeling good about the cold shipping after plenty of testing, so it won’t be long now.

Water Kefir will be following next, stay tuned.

Thank you to Frodsham for today Independent Street and we’ll see you all at Oxton tomorrow đŸ™đŸŒ Oxton Village Market

Pickles aren’t always fermented. And fermented doesn’t always mean living cultures
😅

Before Wild Pantry, we didn’t really know the difference either.

Fermented food felt like this slightly mysterious world of sauerkraut, kimchi and jars bubbling away on kitchen counters.

Then we started making it ourselves, to support our health.

And one of the biggest things we learnt was that sour doesn’t always mean fermented.

A lot of pickles get their sharp flavour from vinegar. Fermented vegetables get there in a very different way.

With sauerkraut, you can start with something as simple as cabbage and salt.

Naturally present bacteria begin feeding on sugars in the vegetables. They produce acids, the pH drops, the flavour changes and slowly that cabbage becomes sauerkraut.

But there’s another part of the story.

Some fermented foods are pasteurised after fermentation. Heat makes them easier to store and can give them a longer shelf life, but it also means the live cultures from fermentation don’t survive.

That’s why our sauerkraut is raw, unpasteurised and kept chilled.

We choose the slightly harder route because we want you to get the food in the form that made us fall in love with fermentation in the first place, thanks to it’s health benefits.

So next time you’re looking at pickles, sauerkraut or fermented vegetables, ask two questions:

Was it actually fermented? (Is there vinegar in the ingredients?)

And was it pasteurised afterwards? (Is it in the fridge or on a shelf?)

Because pickled, fermented and unpasteurised don’t all mean the same thing.

Wild Pantry on tour: Corfu edition đŸ«’

We took a Mojito Water Kefir to The Durrells’ White House.

Sadly, they weren’t in to try it.

Their loss, more Mojito for us 😉

We’re still away at the moment, but Wild Pantry is back this weekend.

📅 Saturday 15th August

10-2pm at Little Sutton Artisan Market

Wirral CH postcode deliveries will follow later that day.

📅 Thursday 20th August:

Liverpool L postcode deliveries with deliveries back to their normal schedule from then.

Until then, the Mojito is enjoying Corfu almost as much as we are. We might be working on a Corfu inspired product too 👀
