Earthing Revolution Earthing has become a world-wide phenomenon based on the discovery of the benefits of grounding by Clint Ober.

I never set out to start a business. All I really wanted was for the people I love to feel what I was feeling.

Clint Ober spent decades in cable television, where every electrical system has to be grounded to work properly, and he began to wonder what happens to the human body when it loses that connection. Our bodies run on tiny electrical signals, and the Earth’s surface holds a natural supply of free electrons, which are believed to flow into the body when our bare skin touches the ground.

In 2000, Clint ran a small blinded study with 60 people who were struggling with their sleep, and most of those who slept grounded reported improvements. So when my own friends and family started telling me about their sleep, it meant so much to know Clint had seen the same thing years before.

Everything I share today is that same official Clint Ober range, because I’d never recommend something I wouldn’t give to the people closest to me. If you can’t always get outside barefoot, mats and mattress covers can bring grounding into everyday life, and you’ll find them through the link in my bio.

And if someone comes to mind as you read this, send it their way. That’s how all of this began.

For most of human history we were in contact with the ground every day, and now many of us go weeks without it…

Grounding helps the body reconnect with the earth’s natural charge, and research suggests it supports deeper sleep, a calmer nervous system and recovery.

Getting outside barefoot is wonderful when you can, but life and the British weather don’t always allow it - Grounding mats and mattress covers let you stay connected at home while you work, rest and sleep.

You’ll find everything through the link in my bio.

If you’ve been looking into grounding products, you’ve probably noticed that some are made with silver and others with carbon, and the difference is worth knowing…

Earthing comes down to a simple idea. The surface of the earth carries a subtle natural charge, and when your skin is in contact with it, your body is believed to gently come into balance with it.

Walking barefoot on grass or sand is the most natural way to do this, but it isn’t always possible, especially through a British winter.

Indoor grounding products are designed to give you that same connection at home, which is why the material carrying it really matters.

Silver is a wonderful conductor, but over time it oxidises, much like a silver necklace tarnishes. Add in everyday wear, body oils and regular washing, and the silver can gradually lose its conductivity, so the product may not connect you as well as it once did.

Carbon doesn’t oxidise in the same way, so it tends to hold its conductivity for much longer and stands up well to daily use.

If you’d like to bring grounding into your home, you can explore our full range on our website.

Who knew the internet would end up giving us such good wellness advice?

“Go touch grass” usually gets aimed at someone who’s spent far too long online, and the funny thing is, it’s pretty much what grounding is all about. Most of us move from the phone on the bedside table to the laptop at work to the TV in the evening, often without our bare skin touching the earth even once.

Grounding is as simple as letting your feet sink into the grass, getting your hands in the soil or walking barefoot along the beach. It costs nothing and has been part of human life for as long as there have been humans.

A review by Oschman, Chevalier and Brown suggests this direct contact with the earth may play a role in how the body manages inflammation, so the internet may have been onto something all along.

Of course, touching grass isn’t always practical, especially when it’s raining or you’re stuck indoors all day. That’s where our indoor grounding mats come in. You can find them at earthingrevolution.co.uk linked in the bio.

So I have to ask, when did you last touch grass, and I mean actually touch it?

Isn’t it funny that the oldest wellness practice in the world now needs explaining?

I think about this a lot. Somewhere along the way we built lives that keep us busy, indoors and permanently plugged into everything except the ground beneath us, and then we wonder why so many of us feel wired and tired.

To me, grounding has never felt like a new hack to add to the list. It feels much more like coming home to something our bodies already know.

What I find really encouraging is that research is now looking at what our ancestors simply lived. In a small study by Ghaly and Teplitz, people who slept grounded showed cortisol patterns moving towards a more natural day and night rhythm, and many reported sleeping better.

A review by Oschman, Chevalier and Brown also suggests grounding may play a role in how the body manages inflammation.

I know barefoot time isn’t always realistic, especially now the evenings are drawing in and the grass is cold and soggy more often than not. That’s exactly why we offer indoor grounding products like mats, mattress covers and pillowcases, so you can stay connected while you work, relax and sleep, whatever the British weather decides to do. You can find them all at earthingrevolution.co.uk.

I’d love to know, when was the last time you stood barefoot on the grass? Tell me in the comments.

Sometimes the simplest things are the ones we need reminding of most. 🌿✨

A little moment with our founder, Jen, sharing from the heart about something that sits at the very centre of Earthing Revolution — reconnecting with the Earth, slowing down and coming back to ourselves.

Grounding doesn’t need to be complicated.

Bare feet. Fresh air. A few quiet minutes outside. Or simply creating small moments of connection within your everyday life. 🤍

This is why we do what we do.

Helping more people discover grounding, understand it, experience it… and make it part of their lives.

And Joanne certainly isn’t alone… 🌿🤍

We’re incredibly grateful for the many wonderful stories and experiences shared with us by our Earthing Revolution community.
