We followed a Halo Laser treatment from the clinic room to day eight, including the part most treatment videos leave out.
HOW HALO WORKS
Halo is a hybrid fractional laser. It combines two wavelengths in a single pass, with an ablative one refining the very top layer of skin for texture and fine lines, and a non-ablative one working deeper to target pigment, sun damage and collagen production.
Energy is delivered in thousands of microscopic columns with healthy skin left intact around each one, which is why recovery is measured in days. The handpiece also tracks its own speed as it moves and adjusts the energy to match, so coverage stays even across the face.
WHAT THE WEEK LOOKS LIKE
Straight after treatment, skin is red and warm, much like the clip at the start. Mild swelling is common for the first day or two. From around day three, skin can look slightly bronzed and feel like fine sandpaper as treated tissue and old pigment rise to the surface. It then flakes away over the next few days.
By day eight, as you can see, most patients are through the recovery with clearer, more even skin.
AFTER DAY EIGHT
The visible healing is quick, but the deeper work continues. New collagen keeps forming for several months, so skin quality goes on improving well beyond the first week.
Recovery time depends on the depth of treatment, which your practitioner will tailor to your skin and your concerns. Autumn and winter are ideal for Halo, because freshly treated skin needs protection from UV and there's far less of it about.
Halo is currently part of our autumn offers, running until 15 October 2026.
Individual results may vary and suitability is confirmed at consultation.
