Do you think acupuncture is going to work for you?
It's a fair question, and one I get asked a lot. Rather than giving a vague "it depends," I like to share a simple way of thinking about it, borrowed from fellow acupuncturist Matthew Bauer.
Our bodies are always working to stay in balance. When something tips that balance — an injury, hormonal shifts, ongoing stress — symptoms appear. A good course of acupuncture can boost your body's own balancing efforts by roughly 10–20%. The question is whether that's enough to tip things back in your favour.
One clue: how much do your symptoms vary day to day (when the trigger stays the same)? More variation generally means better odds of a noticeable improvement.
It's not a guarantee, but it's a helpful way to set realistic expectations before starting. Full explanation on the blog — link https://traceygoulding.com/ or message me if you'd like to talk it through.
